BY-LAW NUMBER 3227/89
Being a By-law to amend Zoning By-laws 251i, 2520, 3036 and 3037, as amended, to
implement the Official Plan of the Town of Picketing District Planning Area, Region of
Durham, within the boundaries of the Town of Pickering.(A 32/89)
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing deems it desirable to
permit day nurseries as-of-right in cultural and community facilities;
AND WHEREAS amendments to By-laws 25i l, 2520, 3036 and 3037, as amended, are therefore
deemed necessary;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
l. TEXT AMENDMENT: BY-LAWS 2M 1~ 2520~ 3036 and 3037
(l) Section ~ of By-law 2511, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding as
subsection 5.32 thereto, the provisions for day nurseries within cultural and
community facilities, which provisions are set out in Schedule A to this By-law;
(2) Section 5 of By-law 2520~ as amended, is hereby further amended by adding as
subsection .5.32 thereto, the provisions for day nurseries within cultural and
community facilities, which provisions are set out in Schedule A to this By-law;
(3) Section ~ of By-law 3036, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding as
subsection 5.31 thereto, the provisions for day nurseries within cultural and
community facilities, which provisions are set out in Schedule A to this By-law.
(#) Section 5 of ByMaw 3037, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding as
subsection 5.30 thereto, the provisions for day nurseries within cultural and
community facilities, which provisions are set out in Schedule A to this ByMaw.
2. SCHEDULE A
Schedule A hereto forms part of this By-law.
3. EFFECTIVE DATE
This By-law shall take effect from the day of passing hereof subject to the approval of the
Ontario Municipal Board, if required.

SCHEDULE A TO
BY-LAW 32~7/8fl
DAY NURSERIES WITHIN CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES
(a) Subject to the definitions and provisions of this section, a day
nursery shall be permitted within places of worship; schools under
the iurisdiction of a board of education established pursuant to the
Education Act R.S.O. I9g0, or any successor thereto; and public
municipal buildings.
(b) For the purpose of this section, "day nursery" shall mean [ands and
premises duly licensed pursuant to the provisions of the Day
Nurseries Act, or any successor thereto, and for the use as a
facility for the daytime care of children.
