BY-LAW NUMBER 3053/89
Being a by-law respecting remuneration for
Members of Council
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 238.1 of the Municipal Act,
R.S.O. 1980, c. 302, as amended, the council may pass by-laws for paying
remuneration to the members of Council; and
WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to establish the remuneration to be
paid to members of Council for the year 1989;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1. The remuneration payable to the Mayor shall be $29,670.00 per annum
or $200.00 per meeting for the period December 1, 1988 to November
30, 1989 (inclusive)
2. The remuneration payable to a Councillor shall be $13,350.00 per
annum or $100.00 per meeting for the period December 1, 1988 to
November 30, 1989 (inclusive)
3. This by-law shall be effective from December 1, 1988.
4. By-law Number 2669/88 is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED this 20th
day of February 1989.
