By-law No. 7781/20
Being a By-law.to amend By-law 7665/18, which
governs the proceedings of Council, any of its
committees, the conduct of its Members, and'the calling
of meetings.
Whereas on July 27, 2020, Pickering 'City Council 'adopted Resolution #372/20
directing that an amendment be made to the Procedure By-law to include the ability to
read an Indigenous Land Acknowledgement Statement at Meetings of Council;
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as
follows:
That Sections 04.01 b) and 10.01 of Procedure By-law 7665/18, as amended, be,
repealed and replaced with the following and the remaining sections of the By-law be
renumbered accordingly:
04.01 Inaugural Meeting
b) The order of business for the first meeting of Council shall be as follows:
(i) Call to Order
(ii) Invocation
(iii) Indigenous Land Acknowledgment Statement
(iv) Swearing in ceremony
(v) Inaugural.address
(vi) Adjournment.
10.01 The Order of Business for the regular Meetings of Council shall be as follows:
a) Meeting Called To Order
b) Invocation
C) Indigenous Land Acknowledgment Statement
d) Disclosures of Interest
e) Adoption of Minutes
f) Presentations
g) Delegations
h) Correspondence
i) Committee Reports
j) New and Unfinished Business
k) Motions and Notices of Motion
I) By-laws
rn) Confidential Council — Public Report
n) Other Business ;
