BY-LAW NUMBER 2662/88
Being a by-law to provide for the
establishment, maintenance and operation
of certain community recreation centres
within the Town of Pickering
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 1 of section 2 of the
Community Recreation Centres Act, 1980, R.S.O. 1980, c. 80, the council
of the municipality may, by by-law, provide for the establishment,
maintenance and operation of one or more community recreation centres
in accordance with that Act; and
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of December, 1978, the Council of the
Corporation of the Town of Picketing enacted By-law 919/78, providing,
inter alia, for the establishment, maintenance and operation of certain
community centres named therein; and
WHEREAS, it is now deemed appropriate to make certain changes and
additions to the list of community recreation centres;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing
HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1. The facilities more particularly described in Schedule "A" hereto are
hereby established as community recreation centres to be maintained
and operated in accordance with the provisions of The Community
Recreation Centres Act, 1980.
2. A committee known as the Community Recreation Centres Board of
the Town of Picketing shall be appointed by by-law from time to time
for the management and control of the said community recreation
centres.
3. By-laws 919178, 1219/81, 1368181, 1465/82, 1510/82 and 1828/84 are
hereby repealed.

of February, 1988.
