BY-LAW NO. 2637/88
Being a by-law to stop-up and sell part of Road
Allowance between Concession 1 and Range
Broken Front Concesslon, Picketing (Part 16,
Plan 40R-1090).
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of sections 298(1) and 316(1) of the Municipal
Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter 302, the council of any municipality may pass by-laws to
stop-up a highway or part thereof and to authorize its sale at a fixed price; and
WHEREAS, notice of this by-law has been published once a week for four consecutive
weeks and the provisions of the Municipal Act relating to the stopping-up of a high-
way have been complied with;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That part of the Road Allowance between Concession 1 and Range 3, Broken
Front Concession, Pickering, designated as Part 16, Plan 40R-1090, is
stopped-up and closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
2. The lands described in section 1 shall be offered for sale to the abutting own-
ers at a price fixed at $240,000 per acre plus the Town's legal and survey
costs, which offer shall be made by the Town on or before February 29, ]988.
3. The period within which an abutting owner may exercise his right to purchase
the portion of the lands described in section 1 that abut his lands shall com-
mence at 9:00 a.m. on March 1, I988 and end at 4:00 p.m. on March 15, 1988.
BY-LAW read a first and second time this llth day of January, 1988.
BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed this 15th day of February, 1988.
