BY-LAW NUMBER 5931/01
Being a by-law to delegate certain authority under the Planning
Act to the Director, Planning & Development Department.
Whereas Section 51.2 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13 as amended, permits the
Council of the City of Picketing (the "Council") to delegate all or any part of the authority to
approve plans of subdivision or condominium description to an appointed officer where the
authority to approve plans of subdivisions or condominium description has been delegated to
the Council.
And Whereas by Bylaw 77-2001 the Regional Municipality of Durham has delegated the
authority to approve applications for plans of subdivisions or condominium description to
Council.
And in order to obtain greater efficiency in the administration of the approval authority for
plans of subdivisions or condominium description it is deemed expedient to delegate certain
authorities to the Director, Planning & Development.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Director, Planning & Development is delegated all of the Council's authority under
Section 51 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13 as amended.
The authority delegated to the Director, Planning & Development under Section 1 of this
By-law may be assigned by the Director to one of the following to cover periods of
absence of the Director: Manager, Current Operations or Manager, Policy.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and fmally passed this 17th day of
December ., 2001.
