BY-LAW NO. 5818/01
Being a by-law to ratify the terms of a
Memorandum of Settlement dated March 9, 2001
between The Corporation of the City of Picketing
and Picketing Professional Firefighters' Association
respecting a Collective Agreement for 2000/2003
and to authorize the execution of that Collective
Agreement.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Part IX of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997, the Bargaining
Committee of The Corporation of the City of Picketing has come to an agreement with the
Bargaining Committee of Picketing Professional Firefighters' Association for the purpose of
defining, determining and providing for remuneration, pensions and working conditions of the
full-time firefighters of the City's Fire Services Division for 2000/2003.
WHEREAS, pursuant to sections 207.45, 207.46, 207.47, 207.48, and 207.49 of the Municipal
Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, the Council of The Corporation of the City of Picketing may
pass by-laws for providing various forms of remuneration, pensions, benefits and insurance for
municipal employees;
NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
The Memorandum of Settlement dated March 9, 2001 between The Corporation of The
City of Picketing and Picketing Professional Firefighters' Association, a copy of which is
attached hereto as Attachment 1, is hereby ratified.
The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a Collective Agreement in the
form attached hereto as Attachment 2, between The Corporation of the City of Picketing
and Picketing Professional Firefighters' Association respecting the period beginning
January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2003.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 19th day of March 2001.
