PD 34-00 BY-LAW TO ADOPT AMENDMENT 5 TO THE CITY OF PICKERING OFFICIAL PLAN THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 571 s!oo Being a By-law to adopt Amendment 5 to the Official Plan for the City ofPickering. (OPA 99-001/P) WHEREAS pursuant to the Planning Act, R.S,O. 1990, c.p. 13, subsections 17(22) and 21(1), the CounCil of the Corporation of the City of Pickering may by by-law adopt amendments to the Official Plan for the City of Pickering, and submit them to the Region of Durham for approval. NOW' THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY'OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: Amendment 5 to the Official Plan for the City of Pickering, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby adopted. The Clerk of the City of Picketing is hereby authorized and directed to submit Amendment 5 to the Official Plan for the City of Pickering to the Region of Durham for approval. 3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passing hereof. BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this g6 day of !une 2000. TAYLOR Exhibit "A" to By-law 5715/00 AMENDMENT 5 TO THE CITY OF PICKERING OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT 5 TO THE CITY OF PICKERING OFFICIAL PLAN PURPOSE: LOCATION: BASIS: ACTUAL AMENDMENT: IMPLEMENTATION: INTERPRETATION: The purpose of the amendment is to revise Schedule I - Land Use Structure of the Pickering Official Plan, to permit medium density residential development on a portion of the subject lands. The amendment to Schedule I would affect lands known as Part of Lot 33, Concession 1 (Part of Lot 1, Plan 388). Through the review of Official Plan Amendment Application 99-001/P, Draft Plan of Subdivision 18T-98018 (Revision 2) and Zoning By-law Amendment APplication A 6/99, an amendment to the Picketing Official Plan has been determined to be appropriate in order to assist with the establishment of a neighbourhood focus at the intersection of Finch Avenue and Altona Road. The objective of a neighbourhood focus at this location is articulated within the Council-adopted Rouge Park Neighbourhood Development Guidelines (April 2000) and Environmental Master Servicing Plan (April 2000). The Picketing Official Plan be amended by: Revising Schedule I by replacing the "Urban Residential Areas - Low Density" designation with "Urban Residential Areas - Medium Density" designation, as shown on Schedule 'A' to this amendment. The provisions set forth in the Picketing Official Plan, as amended, regarding the implementation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment. The provisions set forth in the Pickering Official Plan, as amended, regarding the interpretation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment.
