HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3976/92 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 3976/92 Being a by-law to adopt Amendment No. 74 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing WHEREAS pursuant to the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.p. 13, subsections 17(6) and 21(1), the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing may by by-law adopt amendments to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering, being an official plan, and submit them to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for approval; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Amendment No. 74 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and including the Explanatory Text, is hereby adopted. 2. The Clerk of the Town of Picketing is hereby authorized and directed to submit Amendment No. 74 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for approval. 3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passing hereof. By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 29th day of June ,1992. Exhibit 'A' to By-law AMENDMENT NO. 74 TO THE TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN (WOODLANDS COMMUNITY PLAN, PART B) AMENDMENT NO. 74 TO THE TOWN OF PICKER[NG DISTRICT PLAN (WOODLANDS COMMUNITY PLAN, PART B) PURPOSE: The .purpose of this amendment is to permit the development of medium density residential uses. LOCATION: The subject lands are located on the north side of Kingston Road, west of Steeple Hill. The lands affected by this amendment are approximately 1.2 hectare in size. The lands are generally described as being the westerly portion of lands being Block $6, Plan 40M-1480, Town of Picketing. BASIS: Th.e appropriateness of this amendment is based on the re-introduction of a residential land use that contributes to the diversification of housing types in the existing nelghbourhood, and assists in achieving Provincial and Town ol~jectives of providing affordable housing. ACTUAL AMENDMENT: The Town of Pickering District Plan (Woodlands Community Plan, Part B) is hereby amended as follows: 1. By amending Schedule VI-2-A as indicated on Exlu'bit 'A" attached to this Amendment. IMPI.EMENTATION: The provisions set forth in the Town. of Pickering District Plan, as amended, regarding the implementauon of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment. INTERPRETATION: The provisions set forth i.n the Town of P. ickering District Plan, as amended, regarding the interpretation ot the Plan shah apply in regard to this Amendment.
