HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3968/92 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 3968/92 Being a by-law to stop-up and close part of the road allowance between Lots 34 and 35, Concession 1, Pickering, as public highwoy attd to authorize the sale thereof to the abutting owner (Parts 16 and 17, Plan 40R-13600; part of Pinegrove Road). WHEREAS The Corporation of the Town of Picketing is the owner of a section of public highway known as Pinegrove Road, being that pan of the road allowance between Lots 34 and 35, Concession 1, Picketing, designated as Pans 16 and 17, Plan 40R-13600; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, sections 191(1), 297(1)(c), 297(1)(d) and 315, the Council of any municipality may pass by-laws to stop up a highway or part thereof and to authorize its sale or the sale of a pan thereof at a fixed price; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. That part of Pinegrove Road, being that part of the road allowance between Lots 34 and 35, Concession I, Pickering, designated as Pans 16 and 17, Plan 40R-13600, is hereby stopped up and closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. 2. The lands described in section 1 shall be offered for sale to the abutting owner for the sale price of $21,027.63. 3. Tbe offer referred to in section 2 shall be made by the Town on or before May 15, 1992. 4. The period within which the abutting owner may exercise his right to purchase the lands described in section I shall comanence at 9:00 a.m. on May 19, 1992, and end at 4:00 p.m. on May 29, 1992. 5. The Mayor and Clerk axe hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents to effect the road closing referred to in section 1, the offer to sell referred to in section 2, and any consequem transfer of the lands described in section 1 to the abutting owner.
