BY-LAW NUMBER 3966/92
Being a by-law to amend By-law Number
2206/86 for the licensing, regulating
and governing of taxicab drivers,
owners and brokers.
Whereas the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
enacted By-law Number 2206/86 on May 5, 1986 to licence, regulate
and govern taxicab drivers, owners and brokers; and
Whereas it is deemed expedient to amend that By-law to define the
word "limousine";
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section 1 of By-law Number 2206/86 is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following:
r) "Limousine" means any vehicle having an enclosed
passenger area designed to separate the driver from
the passengers, a wheelbase of not less than 2900
millimeters, a manufacturers-rated seating capacity of
more than six person, hired by the public on an hourly
basis an is not equipped with
a) a roof light,
b) a two-way radio; or
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this
6th day of April, 1992.
