BY-LAW_NO, 3936/92
Being a by-law to stop4tp and close part of the road
allowance bem,een Lots 34 and 35, Concession J,
Pickering, as public highway and to authorize the sale
thereof to the abutting owner (Parts 16 and 17, Plan
40R-15600; part af Pinegrove Road).
WHEREAS The Corporation of the Town of Pickering is the owner of a section of public highway
known as Pinegrove Road, being that part of the road allowance between Lots 34 and 35, Concession 1,
Picketing, designated as Parts 16 and 17, Plan 40R-13600; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, sections
191(1), 297(I)(c), 297(1)(d) and 315, the Council of any municipality may pass by-laws to stop up a
highway or part thereof and to authorize its sale or the sale of a part thereof at a fixed price;
NOW TIIEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That part of Pinegrove Road, being that part of the road allowance between Lots 34 and 35,
Concession 1, Pickerh~g, designated as Parts 16 and 17, Plan 40R-13600, is hereby stopped up
and closed to vehiculm' and pedestrian traffic.
2. The lands described in section 1 shall be offered for sale to the abutting owner for the sale price
of $17,500.
3. The offer referred to in section 2 shall be made by the Town on or before April 21, 1992.
4. The period within which the abutting owner may exercise bis right to purchase the lands
described in section I shall conunence at 9:00 a.m. on April 24, 1992, and end at 4:00 p.m. on
May 8, 1992.
5. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents to effect the
road closing referred to in section 1, the offer to sell referred to in section 2, and any
consequent transfer of the lands described in section 1 to the abutting owner.
BY-LAW read a first and second time this 17th day of February, 1992;
BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed this 6th day of April, 1992.
