HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3935/92 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBERS935/92 Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 2995 to authorize participation in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System. Whereas pursuant to By-law Number 2995 enacted on April 5, 1965, the Town of Pickering elected to participate in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System; and Whereas the said By-law provides that an employee is entitled to become a member of the System if he is employed on a continuous full-time basis; and Whereas the Collective Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Picketing and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local No. 129 provides that part-time seasonal employees shall be classified as full-time employees; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Section 3 of By-law Number 2995 is hereby deleted and the following is substituted therefor: 3. Every person who becomes an employee in a continuous full-time position or other than continuous full-time, namely a full-time seasonal position, on or after the effective date shall, as a condition of his employment, become a member of the System, or if he is already a member resume his contributions to the System. 2. This by-law shall take effect as of April 29, 1991. By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 17th day of February, 1992. Mayor
