BY-LAW NO. 5543/99
Being a by-law to authorize the retention of the
law firm of Reble, Ritchie, Green and Ketcheson
to carry-out legal work for The Corporation of the
Town of Pickering for a period of two years.
WHEREAS pursuant to section 101 (1) of the Municipal Act, RSO, 1990 C.M. 45 the powers of
the Council shall be exercised by by-law; and
WHEREAS by Resolution #242/98 passed on December 7, 1998, the Council of The
Corporation of the Town of Picketing authorized staff to initiate a Request for Proposal for
outside legal services;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute any contracts or agreements with the law firm
of Reble, Ritchie, Green and Ketcheson to carry out general legal services for The
Corporation of the Town of Pickering for a two year term.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 3rd day of August, 1999.
