HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 5506/99THE CORPORATION OF ~ TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 5506/99 Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 4423/94 (Dog & Cat By-law) respecting dog licences. WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing enacted By-law Number 4423/94 on May 3, 1994 to provide for the licensing, registration and regulation of dogs, for the determination of the compensation to be allowed for impounding, distraining and detaining of dogs and cats for the establishment of a cat identification system; and WHEREAS in a motion passed on May 26, 1999, the Picketing, Ajax and Whitby Joint Animal Control Committee has recommended that this by-law be amended to provide for a licence fee discount for dogs implanted with microchip identification; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: Subsection 4 of Section 2 of By-law Number 4423/94 is revoked in its entirety and the following is substituted therefore: 2. (4) The fee payable for a dog licence shall be payable at the time of the issuing of the licence and in the case of, (a) a spayed or neutered dog that has been implanted with microchip identification, the fee shall be $5.00; (b) a spayed or neutered dog that has not been implanted with microchip identification, the fee shall be $10.00; (c) a dog that has not been spayed or neutered but has been implanted with microchip identification, the fee shall be $15.00; (d) any other dog, the fee shall be $20.00. 2.
