HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 5423/98THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 5423/98 Being a by-law to establish the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer and to appoint Thomas J. Quinn as the Chief Administrative Officer. WHEREAS pursuant to Section 72 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, as amended, the Council may by by-law appoint a Chief Administrative Officer, who, a) shall have such general control and management of the administration of the government and affairs of the municipal corporation and perform such duties as the Council by by-law prescribes; and b) shall be responsible for the efficient administration of all its departments to the extent that he or she is given authority and control over them by by-law; and WHEREAS the duties of the Chief Administrative Officer are set out in By-law Number 682/77, as amended; and WHEREAS Penny L. Wyger resigned her position as the Town Solicitor effective November 24, 1998; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: That here is hereby established the position of Chief Administrative Officer. That the Chief Administrative Officer shall report directly to the Council. That Thomas J. Quinn is hereby appointed Chief Administrative Officer of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering upon the enactment of this By-law. That Sections 1 to 5 (inclusive) of By-law 4950/97 are hereby repealed. That By-law Numbers 4617/95, 4951/97 and 5112/97 are hereby repealed.
