Being a by-law to assume all or parts of Blocks 48 to 54,
and part of Valleyview Drive, Plan 40M-1507, Pickering,
and all of Blocks 48 and 49, Plan 40M-1508, Picketing,
for public use as public highway under the jurisdiction of
The Corporation of the Town of Picketing
WHEREAS, on June 20, 1988, pursuant to section 298(1)(a) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter
302, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Picketing enacted,
(a) By-law 2809/88, dedicating Blocks 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54 and 55, Plan 40M-1507,
Picketing, as public highway (to become part of Valleyview Drive); and
(b). By-law 2810/88, dedicating Blocks 47, 48, 49 and 50, Plan 40M-1508, Picketing, as public
highway (to become part of Yalleyview Drive); and
WHEREAS Valleyview Drive, Plan 40M- 1507, Picketing, is a highway shown on a plan of subdivision
and is therefore deemed to be a public highway pursuant to section 57 of the Surveys Act, R.S.O. 1990,
chapter S.30; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 263 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, the Council of
the Town has jurisdiction over that public highway (the Council of The Regional Municipality of
Durham not having enacted a by-law pursuant to section 23 of the Regional Municipalities Act, R.S.O.
1990, chapter R.8, or any predecessor ~ereto, to add that highway to the regional road system); and
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The following portions of highway are hereby assumed for public use as public highway under
the jurisdiction of the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Picketing:
(a) those parts of Block 48, Plan 40M-1507, Picketing, designated as Parts 16, 17, 18, 23, 32,
33 and 34, Plan 40R-14939;
(b) that part of Block 49, Plan 40M-1507, Picketing, designated as Part 31, Plan 40R-14939;
(c) those parts of Block 50, Plan 40M-1507, Picketing, designated as Parts 5 and 7, Plan
40R-14939;
(d) all of Blocks 51, 52, 53 and 54, Plan 40M-1507, Picketing;
(e) that part of Block 55, Plan 40M-1507, Picketing, designated as Part 30, Plan 40R-14939;
(O those parts of Valleyview Drive, Plan 40M-1507, Picketing, designated as Parts 29 and
39, Plan 40R-14939; and
(g) all of Blocks 48 and 49, Plan 40M-1508, Picketing.
