BY-LAW NUMBER 4890/96
Being a by-law to appoint a By-law Enforcement
Officer for certain purposes (Parking Regulation -
1880 and 1890 Valley Farm Road, DCC 93 & 106
Whereas pursuant to the provision of section 15(1) of the Police Services Act., R.S.O. 1990,
chapter P15, as amended, the council of any municipality or trustees of any police village may
appoint one or more municipal law enforcement officers who shall be peace officers for the
purpose of enforcing the by-laws of the municipality or police village;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
I. The following persons be hereby appointed as municipal law enforcement officers in
and for the Town of Picketing and are hereby authorized to enter at all reasonable
times upon lands municipally known as 1880 and 1890 Valley Farm Road, DCC 93 &
106, in order to ascertain whether the provisions of By-law 2359/87 are obeyed and to
enforce or carry into effect the said By-law:
Roger Rapson
Cliff DeQuetteville
Bill Heard
Jim Ormerod
Ken Cavanaugh
2. The authority granted in section I hereto is specifically limited to that set out in section
1, and shall not be deemed, at any time, to exceed the authority set out in section 1.
3. These appointments shall expire upon the persons appointed in section I hereof
ceasing to be an employee of Group 4 C.P.S. Limited. or upon Group 4 C.P.S.
Limited ceasing to be an authorized agent of 1880 and 1890 Valley Farm Road, DCC
93 and 106.
4. By-laws 4578/95 and 4714/95 are hereby repealed.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 16~-l'day of December,
1996.
