BY-LAW NO. 4987/97
Being a by-law to authorize the execution of an
Agreement granting an Option to Purchase respecting the
future acquisition of Part of Block 239 and Part of Block
355, Pickering and to authorize the execution of an
agreement regarding snow clearing.
Whereas pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, section 191, the
Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing may pass by-laws for acquiring any land or interest
therein for the purposes of the Corporation;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing HEREBY ENACTS AS
F OLL OW S:
1. The Mayor and the Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Option Agreement between the Town
and the Pickering Harbour Company (Limited), respecting the future acquisition by the Town of Part
of Plan 239 and Part of Plan 355, Pickering, for Town purposes, at a price of $184,000, which option
will be for a term of 10 years from the date of execution of the Option Agreement.
2. The Mayor and the Clerk are further authorized to execute a financially secured agreement with
Picketing Harbour Company (Limited) prepared in a form satisfactory to the Town's Solicitor
regarding the clearing of snow on the lands set out as Parts 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10, Plan 40R-17411.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 21st day of April, 1997.
