Being a By-law to adopt a new official plan for the Town of Picketing and repeal
the existing official plan for the Town of Pickering.
WHEREAS pursuant to the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter P. 13, Subsections 17(22) and
21(1), the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing may by by-law repeal the
Picketing District Plan, being an official plan, adopt a new official plan for the Town of
Picketing, and submit the repeal and adoption to the Region of Durham for approval.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Pickering Official Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby adopted as the
official plan of the Town of Picketing.
2. The existing official plan for the Town of Pickering known as the Pickering District Plan,
as amended, is hereby repealed.
3. The Clerk of the Town of Pickering is hereby authorized and directed to submit the
adoption of the Pickering Official Plan and the repeal of the Pickering District Plan to the
Region of Durham for approval.
4. The Picketing Official Plan and the repeal of the Picketing District Plan shall come into
force and take effect upon approval of the Picketing Official Plan by the Region of
Durham.
