BY-LAW NUMBER 5 3 0 9/9 8
Being a by-law to appoint Mr. G.A. Paterson as the Director
of Finance and Treasurer-Collector.
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 77(1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, as
amended, the Council shall appoint a Treasurer; and
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 85(1) of the said Act, the Council of every local municipality
shall appoint as many Collectors for the municipality as it considers necessary; and
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing enacted By-law 50/74 on
May 6, 1974 to appoint Mr. James Walls as the Treasurer-Collector for the Town of Picketing;
and
WHEREAS Mr. Walls has retired from the employment of the Town of Picketing effective May
13, 1998;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
That Gillis A. Paterson be and is hereby appointed as the Director of Finance and
Treasurer-Collector for the Corporation of the Town of Picketing.
That the duties of the said Treasurer-Collector shall be those defined in the Assessment
Act and the Municipal Act, as amended, together with those duties prescribed by Council
from time to time.
By-law Number 50/74 is hereby repealed.
This by-law is effective as of May 13, 1998.
