HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 7694/19The Corporation of the City of Pickering By-law No. 7694/19 Being a by-law to stop -up and close certain portions of Wingarden Crescent and Shade Master Drive as public highways, release and abandon access/maintenance easements in favour of the City and convey certain lands and interests in land to the abutting owners, subject to required easements. Whereas Wingarden Crescent and Shade Master Drive are public highways under the jurisdiction of The Corporation of the City of Pickering; and Whereas pursuant to section 34 of the Municipal Act, Council may pass by-laws to stop up and close a public highway or portions thereof; and Whereas in accordance with the City's Acquisition and Disposal of Land policy, Council has the authority to acquire or dispose of land or interests in land, or parts thereof. Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as follows: 1. The following portions of public highways are hereby stopped -up and closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic: • Portions of Wingarden Crescent and Shade Master Drive being Blocks 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18, Plan 40M-2402. That those portions of Wingarden Crescent and Shade Master Drive described above are hereby deemed surplus to the needs of the City and shall be conveyed to the abutting owners, subject to any required easements, for nominal consideration ($2.00). The following interests in the portions of lands referred to below are no longer required by the City for road access/maintenance purposes and the City's interest in them shall be abandoned and conveyed to the abutting owners for nominal consideration ($2.00): • Those parts of Lots 5, 6, 11 and 12, Plan 40M-2402, designated as Parts 4 5, 7, 8, 11, 12 and 13, Plan 40R-26018. By-law No. 7694-19 Page 2 The Mayor, City Clerk and City Solicitor are authorized to obtain and execute all relevant documentation required to effect the above.
