BY-LAW NUMBER
Being a By-law to amend Restricted Area (Zoning) By-law 3036, as amended by By-law
1612/83 to implement the Official Plan of the Town of Picketing District Planning Area,
Region of Durham in Part of Blocks A and B, Plan M-998, in the Town of Picketing.

WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing passed By-law 1612/83,
amending By-law 3036, as amended, to permit the establishment of various commercial uses on
the subject lands, being Block A and Part of Block B, Plan M-998, in the Town of Picketing;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering now deems it
desirable to permit outdoor storage and display of materials associated with a garden centre on
the subject lands, being Part of Blocks A and B, Plan M-998, as a temporary seasonal use during
the months of March, April, May, and June, in the years 1998, 1999, and 2000;
AND WHEREAS an amendment to amending By-law 1612/83 to By-law 3036, as amended, is
therefore deemed necessary;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. TEXT AMENDMENT
(1)
Section 5.(2)(d), OUTDOOR STORAGE AND DISPLAY, of By-law 1612/83, as
amended, is hereby revoked and replaced with the following:
(d)
OUTDOOR STORAGE
AND DISPLAY:
Despite any other provisions of this By-law or
By-law 3036, as amended from time to time;
(i)
Outdoor storage and display shall be permitted on that part of the lands
designated "C9" on Schedule "I", attached hereto, cross-hatched and
designated 'outdoor storage and display area' on Schedule "II", attached
hereto, only when such outdoor storage and display is accessory or
incidental to a permitted use located on the same lot;
(ii)
Outdoor storage and display of materials associated with a garden centre
use may be permitted on the lands designated "C9" on Schedule "I"
attached hereto, with a maximum area of 290 square metres, and only in
association with a Vehicle Service and Household Merchandise Store,
during the months of March, April, May, and June, in the years 1998,
! 999, and 2000.
2. EFFECTIVE DATE
This By-law shall take effect from the day of passing hereof, subject to the approval of
the Ontario Municipal Board, if required.
