Janton appeared before the Committee to provide an overview of the site plan application recently received for 1870 Notion Road. Through the aid of a Power Point presentation, she provided members with an outline of the location, elevation and floor plans. She stated the application proposes the development of a 1,500 square metre commercial plaza which would include one two-storey building, as well as a one-storey building. She indicated there would be access off Notion Road as well as Pickering Parkway. She also stated there would be pedestrian connections throughout the site. Page 3 of 4 Item/ Ref # Details & Discussion & Conclusion (summary of discussion) Action Items/Status (include deadline as appropriate) Members noted the following comments;  Members felt they were not included in discussions  Standard responses were given with no new information  Preventing people from travelling on the buses with support workers  No pro-active positions being taken by transit i.e. the design of bus stops  Some bus stops are without curb cuts  Total unfairness of allowing some to travel with support workers on Wheel Trans while others are denied  Members felt they were spoken to by DRT and not consulted, as had been hoped. Members noted the need for Durham Transit to consult with the public, which is something they are currently not effectively doing, therefore not fulfilling the requirements under the AODA. It was also noted that with a new government, members could continue to lobby for positive changes. 4.2 Member Appointments L. Roberts informed Members that with this being an election year, all Advisory Committee terms will be ending in November of this year.
