The following persons addressed Council wíth respect to the draft plans of subdivision in the Dunbarton neighbourhood: a) Bob Balcer, 1925 Bonita Avenue stated that he has worlced with Council and staff for ilie past one and a half years on these applications, The community was under the impression that the lots would be 50' but notes ilist the cul-de-sac lots are down as low as 10 metres. He also questioned if!l park was Included in the community planning. He advised that all trees which were to be preserved have been removed. , 78 an... DELEGATIONS b) Brian Berndt, ' 922 Bonita Avenue stated his cuncern with a precedence being set concerning the smaller lots, The guideline! state that consideration may be given to IO ß\etre lots, not that H' metre lots should be the norm. A sheet of pavement will be seen if a double driveway is approved for this size of lot. He requested, , "t the by-laws be amended to : 2 metre lots and advised th&t he feels strongly about having a pa.-k in the community. . 2. Corky deGraauw, 1985 Valley Farm Road, addressed Cc.<mcil with respect to the Notice of Reconsideration. H~ stated that this project is r.ot a wedge, A positive decision of Council would create jobs. This application has been approved by numerous agencies and has the support of many neighbouring properties, H~ also advised that this application is not an intrusion on the rural community, 3. Sylvia Spencer, 771 Sheppard A'/enue, addressed Coun::il regarding the Minutes of the Statutory Public Information Meeting of March 21, 1996. (IV) 79 ay-law Number 4762/96 BY-LAWS Being a by-law to dedicate that part of Lot 31, Concession I, Pickering, designated as Part 1, Plan 40R-15756. as public highway (Rosebank Road). . THIRD READING: Councillor Johnson, seconded by Councillor Senis moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers 4761/96 and 4762196 be adopted and the said by-law be now read a third time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Cleric sign the same and the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED OTHER BUSINESS Councillor Senis advised that tree planting would be taking place along the shore of Frenchman's Bay and requested that all persons interested in volunteering their services are to meet at the Frenchman's Bay Yacht Club on Saturday, April 20th at lOa,m. Councillor Senis commented on confidentiality concerning the Brock West Landfill Site. Councillor Ryan advised of the Big Brothers 6th Annual Charity Golf Toumament being held at the Glen Cedars Golf Club on May 23rd. Councillor Brenner advised that he would be bringing forward a Notice of Motion, which will be circulated to Council for comment, concerning Frenchman's Bay. Councillor Brenner commented on tM comments made by Councillor Senis concerning confidentiality with respect to the Brock West Landfill Site issue. Councillor Dickerson IJdvised that the Liverpool West Community Association will be holding a clean-up event at the Loeb Plaza on Finch Avenue and Dixie Road on May 4th at 9:30 a.m, Council1or Dickerson requested that the fence at the CNR tracks by Dunbarton Road be looked at as it is coming down. Councillor Dickerson questioned if sidewallcs for the old Dunbarton village have been included in the 1996 budget. Councillor Dickerson advised that no reference to housing is made in the Minutes of Settlement concerning the deGraauw application. Councillor Dickerson advised that he would be bringing forward a Motion in four weeks concerning having the Dr, Henry Alban application lifted ftom the table. Councillor Pistritto commented on the buffer being planted along Frenchman's Bay on April 20th, Councillor Johnson advised that the Durham Region Worlcs Department newsletter k now available. Councillor Johnson congratulated Durham Region residents for their continued support of the blue box recycling program. 80 IV} OTHER BUSINESS 14, Councillor Johnson also congratulated the community for their support of the 'Family in Need' event being held 01. Wednesday, April 17th at the Recreation Complex. 15. The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting: . a) The Town Manager distributed information trom the Town Solicitor concerning the MOEE Dumps Intervenor Funding Act. b) The Town Manager distributed information concerning the requeftt by the Joint Health and Safety Committee to declare April 28th, 1996 an official day of mourning. c) The Town Manager distributed correspondence trom the MTRCA concerning possibie acquisition of the Moore property, d) Councillor Johnson requested that the presentation by Economic Development be postponed until May 8th. (VJ) CONFIRMA nON J}~ Bv-law Number 4763196 Councillor Ryan seconded by Councillor Brenner moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confinn those proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering at its meetings held on the 15th day of ApriL 1996 and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Cleric sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. .
