RESOLUTIONS
Resolution #85/96

That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c M.4S, as amended,
the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picker,i1g hereby resolves to conduct a
meeting closed to the publ;~ fo; the purpos; of considering litigation.
CARRIED
Mr. Dan Kirby, the Solicitor retained by the Town to represent it with respect to proposed
litigation with Metropolitan Toronto and the Ministry of the Environment regarding the
Brock West Landfill Site, provided Council with an overview of the proposed settJement
offered by Metropolitan Toronto.

Council adjourned at 7:30 p.m. to convene in the Council Chambers for its regular
meeci.'\g.
Council reconvened at 10:50 p.m. following its regular meeting to continue its In Camera
session.

That Council1cr Johnson and Mayor Arthurs be authorized to enter into discussions with
Fran1c Pazl1t;( for the purpose of retaining him to represent the Town to achieve a
settlement with Metropolitan Toronto in regards to the Brock West Landfill Site.

That Daniel Kirby and Town staff be directed to prepare for litigation against
Metropolitan Toronto in regards to the Brock West Landfill Site while discussions with
