SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
.
A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on
November 26, 1984 at 7:30 p.m.
PRESENT:
Mayor J.E. Anderson
COUNCILLORS:
W. Arthurs
L. Cahill
D. Kitchen
B. Mitchell
A. Robertson
N. Stoner
ALSO PRESENT:
N. C. Marshall - Town Manager
B. Taylor - Town Clerk
K. McKay - Council Secretary

RESOLUTIONS
Resolution 1112/84
Moved by Councillor Stoner
Seconded by Councillor Arthurs
WHEREAS Mr. Gordon Benson has been employed with the Town of
Pickering and previously the Township of Pickering since April 1,
1941; and
WHEREAS Mr. Benson is retiring on November 30, 1984; and
WHEREAS Mr. Benson in his capacIty as Road Foreman has provided
long and faithful service to the citizens of this Municipality;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that Council publicly express its
appreciation to Mr. Benson for his years of service with the
Municipality and dedication to the needs of the ratepayers of t 1e
Town of Pickering.

Seconded by Councillor Arthurs
WHEREAS Mr. Gordon W. Lynn has been employed with the Town of
Pickering and previously the Township of Pickering since April 15,
1948; and
WHBREAS Mr. Lynn is retiring on November 30. 1984; and
WHBREAS Hr. LInn as Road Department e~loyee has provided long and
faIthful serv ce to the citizens of thlS Municipality;
BEITTHBUI!'ORE RESOLVED that Council publicly express its
appreciation to Mr. Lynn for his years of service with the
Municipality and dedication to the needs of the ratepayers of the
Town of Pickering.

Councillor Robertson seconded by Councillor Arthurs moved for
leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering:
By-law ,Number 1932/84 - Two Readings Only
Being a by-law to determine the hours of closing of certain
classes of shops.
