Cahill D. Kitchen N. Stoner ALSO PRESENT: C.M.t. Sheffield - Town Solicitor B. Taylor - Town Clerk ABSENT: Mayor Anderson. (II) DELEGATIONS 1. Mr. Murray Stroud. representing the Erskine Cemetery Board, addressed Council to request that the Erskine Cemetery Building be designated as historically significant. 2. A representative of Dunbarton - Fairport United Church addressed Council to request that it defer any consideration of the by-law to designate the Erskine Cemetery Building until the church congregation has discussed this and ratified the request of the Cemetery Board. ilII) RESOLUTIONS Resolution 156/84 - See Appendix 11 Moved by Councillor Arthurs Seconded by Councillor Kitchen That the Executive Committee Report dated May 28. 1984, be adopted. THIRD READING Councillor Stoner. seconded by Councillor Arthurs moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers 1728/83. 1846/84.1847/84.1848/84.1849/84 and 1850/84 be adopted and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED. and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same. and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. Councillor Arthurs requested that the Director of Parks and Recreation review the summer hours of the Recreation Complex because many people want it open at 6:00 a.m. 2. Councillor Arthurs expressed his concern about the parking and garbage problems eminating from the flea market. 3. The following motion was introduced upon two-thirds of the Mebers of Council present agreeing to consider it: Re!~lut~!! #59/~ Moved by Councillor Stoner Seconded by Councillor Arthurs That appointments be made to the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee as established by Resolution #56180. July 14, 1984 in conjunction with the Men's Slow Pitch Tournament be approved subject to the approval of tbe Liquor Lioenc~ Board of Ontario. CURlED 5. Councillor Cahill reported that the Region is considering changing the name or Brock Road to General Brock ROB,d. (VI) CONFIRMATION BY-LAW By-law Nuaber 1851/84 Councillor Stoner. seconded by Councillor Arthurs moved for leave to introduce a By-law or the Town of Pickering to confirm the pro- ceedinl8 of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picker- ing at its meeting held on June 4. 1984 ard that same be now read a firat, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first. second and third time and finally passed.
