White and Company has made a survey of our water and sewer plants re insurance coverage on internal explosions from boilers and machinery, which is not covered by our Fire Insurance and report: Three Year Premium Three Year Graded $ 521.82 3,244.80 $ 3,766.62 $ 3.574.97 Boiler Limit per accident. $250,000.00 ............. Machinery Limit per accident, $25,000.00 ........... However, they feel that there is little danger because of regular government inspections, but they do wish to point out that we are not covered in this event. Clerk directed to check with tender call and compile. 2. Tenders were opened for the purchase of a front end loader for tþe Road Department and resulted as follows, less allowance for a 1958 Caterpillar 955 Model l2A series with front end loader: 1. George W. Crothers Limited - Caterpillar, Model 1955, Series "H" - $23.536.00 - $13,000.00 = $10,536.0Q + 3% - $10,852.08. 2. Sheridan Equipment Ltd. - Allis Chalmers, Moder HD7C - $24,311.00 - $12,600.00 = $11,811.00 + 3% - $12.165.33. 3. Construction Equipment Co. Ltd - Case 1000D - $24,102.00 - $11,152.00 = $12,950.00 + 3% - $13,338.50. 4. W. L. Ballentine Co. Ltd. ~ 1.H.C. DROTT, Model 150 Loader _ $22,135.00 - $13,135.00 = $9,000.00 + 3% - $9,270.00. See Resolution No. 159/62 and No. 160/62. l. - 2 - AGREED Mr. S. J. Purdy be heard: Mr. S. J. Purd~ owns Lot 3 and the west half of Lot 4 in Plan 469 just west of P~ckering Village south of Highway 2, and claimed that there were 28 natural watercourses converging on his lot; that the water had to raise a foot on his lot to run off; that his neighbour to the east changed a watercourse which worsened the condition, and ran his sump pump 14 hours a day, draining more water onto his property; that Township engineers had been lax in their duties, and that the area abounded in snakes amd mosquitoes. Council asked for a report from the M.O.H., Township Engineer, and Road Superintendent. MOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Spang, that delegation of Messrs. Frank Hibbert. Harold Graham, Russell Ferguson. and three other park owners be heard. CARRIED The delegation asked that Sunday dancing be permitted under either the new Sunday Sports By-Law or Sunday Theatre By-Law. and that the operation of pin ball machines be permitted. Reeve Scott stated that he had contacted our solicitors to see if Sunday dancing could be permitted under either of our proposed by- laws. RESOLUTION NUMBER 159/62 MOVED by Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Spang, that as the tender of w. L. Ballentine Company for supply of front end loader does not ~eet the specifications, it be not considered. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 160/62 MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Greening. that the tender of George W. Crothers for a front end loader for the sum of $10.536.00, plus 3% sales tax, be accepted. being the lowest tender that meets the specifications, subject to the approval of the Department of Highways of Ontario. CARRIED ¡NSTRUCTIONS Clerk prepare by-law for 30 mile speed limit for Concession 1 west of Altona Road. On MOTION of Mr. Deakin. the meeting adjourned. APPROVED ~ # (/ 1962
