HomeMy WebLinkAboutSeptember 25, 1958 MUNICIPAL BUILDING BROUGHAM A Joint Meeting of Council and Planning Board was held on THURSDAY, the TWENTY-FIFTH day of SEPTEMBER, 1958, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening. PRESENT: J. S. Scott, in the Chair W. G. Lawson, Sidney S. J. Pugh Edgar James Mrs . Jean McPherson Robert L. Stewart Geo. T. Todd Wells Ritchie John Mansell H. S. Pearce Lloyd T. Johnston, Clerk Mr. Little of Project Planning Associates Limited was also present. DeDuty Reeve Scott took the Chair and explained that the Council had given two readings to the Zoning By-Law for all lands south of Concession 3 in the Township. As the Planning Board had forwarded the following Motion to Council on April 28th: "THAT the Board approve in prinoipal the Master Plan as presented by Project Planning Associates for that portion of the Township which lies between the Third Conoession Line and Lake Ontario and that the Board's recommendations regarding the Zoning By-Laws for this area be submitted to Council at a later date. CARRIED." and as on September 5th the Board reoommended that Council rescind the two readings and hand baok to them for further study; And as Council wished to get opinion of Mr. Little before action was taken, hence the reason for the Joint Meeting. Mr. Little explàined the Zoning and the reasons and recommended that the By-Law be not rescinded but studied and changed in Third reading, and also reoommended that present single lots be used for purpose for ~ùich they were purchased and small registered lots be used in same manner as adjoining lots. Mr. Little stated the whole of the Township was under the official plan with all lands north of Concession 3 zoned as "RA". Mr. Martin of Metropolitan Toronto Planning Board stated the zoning By-Law good and well drafted but questioned 80 of the clauses in minor detail. It was generally AGREED that the Zoning By-Law should be referred back to the Board for more study, then given Third Reading by Council when such study oompleted.
