Jones objects to the change of name "Pine Ridge Road" to "Log Cabin Road" as she believes the name is too primitive. Resolution of Planning Board passed September 5, 1958: "Moved by Mr. Lennox, seconded by Mr. Craig, that this Board recommend to Council that the two readings given the Zoning By-Law No. 2326 which zoned all the lands in the Township south of the Third Concession line, be rescinded and that the By-Law be referred back to this Board for further study. 6arried. Tñe following PERSONS, on MOTION, were heard: 1. Jack Hambleton and Mr. Bailey and delegation objected to Hillside Drive in Riverside being changed to Newview Drive. Recommended it be not changed or a naMe with Riverside in it. 2. Mr. J. A. Guest and delegation objected to West Point Crescent in East Rouge being changed to Lealand Avenue. Wished no change, or possible "Indian Point". 3. H. R. Clarke and delegation objected to Pine Ridge Drive in Plan 330 being changed to Log Cabin Road. Had no name in mind. 4. Mr. Jack Hewitt and Terry Ryan and delegation objected to Pine Drive south of Erskine Cemetery being changed to Crestside Drive. They said this not a Township road and thought it should not be changed. 5. ~r. McCullou~h of Puckrin Subdivision, Plan 507, did not object to name chan.ging but asked that. all st.reets have names posted. ~ (a) ô. Mr. Anderl!-on, of Pickering Beach Ratepayers' Association, asked about "Stop" signs on Ajax Streèts. No reply from Ajax to request. (n) Poor visibility for weeds and brush at six corners in Pickering Beach, also one brick pier at Range Line and Park Road. 7. Mr. Russell" of p'~ckering Beach Fire Department, asked for more gravel west of Fire Hall to pérmit parking. 8. Jack Chapman discussed: "Stop" streets, Sandy Road Bridge, and Budget. RESOLUTION NUMBER 165 MOVED by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Pugh, that Edgar James and Robert Betson he appointed members to represent Pickering Township on the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 166 MOVED by Mr. SteWã.rt~ seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that Tax Collector be commended for his efforts in reducing the outstanding taxes. CARRIED. RESOLUTION NUMBER 167 MOVED by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Pugh, that Mr. Johnston arrange a meeting between the Township Council and Planning Board with Project Planners and that this meeting take place before September 29 so that this Council may act on a resolution of our Planning Board dated September 5, 1958. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 168 MOVED by Mr. Scott, seconded by engineering firm of Proctor and Road. Mr. Stewart, that ~fr. Chapman be authorized to enga~ ftedfern to prepare plans for the bridge on Sandy Be~ CARRIED "Stop" and "Through" streets to be st.udied by Road Committee. .... INSTRTJCTIONS TO ROAD SUPERINTENDENT 1. Check on road visibilitv at all the corners in Pickering Beach for weeds, brushJ and brick pier at corner Range Line and Park Road. 2. Place more gravel west of Pickering Beach Fire Hall for parking. 3. Seed five Township lots in West Rouge as soon as possible. Get contractors to remove fill. 4, Check all sidewalks in Whitevale and report to Council. -;3 - 5. Clean up brush and weeds, Harwood Avenue, Ajax, to No.2 Highway. ô. Report to Council on weeds allover the Township. INSTRUCTIONS TO CLERK 1. Thank Mr. Ashton for his volunteering to serve on Conservation Authority Committee. I 2. Get estimate 195R. of costs of Township and subdividers engineering for II" .I 3. rret estimate of 1958 Township legal costs . 4. Advise Planning Board members tnat Council would like them to attend the Natioral Planning Conference at King Edward Hotel, Toronto, September 21st I to 24th, at Council's expense. 5. Ask Mr. Baker to get further information on Bailiff's actions re Wardell and Head. ô. Ask Proctor, Redfern if there is any other way to get water to Highway 2, West Rouge, than that proposed.
