Mr. Ford ot George Carruthers re Excavator. Mr. Kenneth Ward re Tractor. Mr. Camubell and Mr~ Finne~an asked that Road Department try to improve bad holes. Range Line at Pickering Beach. Messrs. SimBson and Brock stated that there should be a sidewalk between Ajax and No. 2 Highway for protection, mòre and better street lights, better fire protection and more weed cutting done. CJerk get oosts on sidewalk and better lights. Mr. Devonshire of Rou2e Hi2hlands stated it was diffioult to get mortgages on houses of over 1050 square teet and presented figures to show that it the balance of lots in the subdivision had homes of 1050 square feet the overall square footage of homes in the sub- division would be larger than the minimum set out in the agreement which required one-third 1150 and two-thirds lOOO square feet or better. Arthur Carlton asked for $500.00 increase in salary, from 11,200.00 tõ11,700.00. Messrs. Miller. Wilson and S~IYester of Plan 612, Chesterhill, objected to Township inspection of septio tanks, poor drainage, icy roads not sanded and felt that the taxes paid by them should give these rate- payers better services. Our Solicitor, Mr. Stevens, submitted a new Agreement between Chester- hill Subdivision and the Township, signed b1~Mr. Desbrisay. MOVED by Mr. Scott seconded by Mr. James, that Arthur Carlton's salary be increased from 61,200.00 to $1,400.00 per annum and that his hours be from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday and that the Township dump be olosed to the publio on TuesdaY1" Thursday and Sunday. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2296 Mr. Scott, seoonded by Mr. Pugh, moves for leave to introduce a 1r-Law of the Township or Piokering to appoint a Member to the Pickering Distriot High School Board and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Scott, seconded by Mrs. RcPherson, moves that By-Law NUmber 2296 to appoint a Member to the Piokering District High School Board be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the fly-Law as re~d. Mr. Soott, seoonded by Mr. Stewart, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on B,y-Law No. 2296 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2297 Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. James, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize an application to The Ontario Municipal Improvement Corporation for the purohase by it of certain debentures, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Stewart, moves that By-Law Number 2297 to authorizw an application to The Ontario Municipal Improvement Corporation for the purchase by it of certain debentures be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the~ole thereon. - 3 - By-law No. 2297 Continued. The Committee of the Whole arises and repQrts the By-law as read.
