A Meeting of Council was held on TUESDAY. the TWENTY-SIXTH day of FEBRUARY.
1957, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.
PRESENT: William G. Lawson, in the Chair

J. S. Chapman
Glenn Julian
Robert L. Stewart
L. T. Johnston, Clerk
MOVED by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pugh, that Council purchase a grader
without plow and that tenders be called with and without turn in or the
older maintainer. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pufh, that $2,600.00 be allocated in
the road budget to pave the westerly 14 miles of the Uxbridge Town line
subject to approval of Uxbridge Council and Mr. Boucher. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Chapman, seconded by Mr. James, that the 1957 Road budget be
t96,880.00 or 7.8 mills and the motion that rate of 7.5 be rescinded.
CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Stewart, that $825.00 item for
resfuscitator be removed from Police budget and placed in General Township
budget. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Julian, that 1957 Police rate be 7.4
mills. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Stewart, that as Council have a firm
commitment re drainage in P 612 that 2 building permits be issued to
Steve Kaskiw. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Scott, that the Finance Committee
recommends payment of the following grants:

Brougham Library

Fairport Boy's Club

South Ontario Ploughing Match
