T. M. Moore submitted By-Law for closing six roads from Liverpool Road to Whitby Townline where they cross Highway # 401. The following persons on motion were heard: ) 1. Police Village of Claremont Trustees signed an agreement with Township. ~2. Mr. Satnik of Plan 330 objected to fill being placed in front of his property by the Road Department. ) 3. William Ellicott asked that his hourly rate for weed inspecting be increas- ed from 80¢ to $ 1.00 per hour. >4. Messrs. Goslin & Hepditch discussed preparation of Assesament Roll. > 5. Albert Cane objected to (1) Parking on Highway # 2 at Mr. Stroud's Store. Reeve Lawson agreed to speak to the Chief. (2) No sand on his road Plan 283 Lot 14, and (3) asked that Dyson Roads be paved in 1957. )Moved by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Julian that Mr. Ellicott be increased Jrom 80¢ per hour to $ 1,00 per hour for weed inspect- ing. CARRIED \\. ) Moved by Mr. Chapman, seconded by Mr. Pugh that Treasurerpay Law Motors $1,100 for new Pontiac Car. CARRIED ) It was a~reed that 3 men rather than 4 men were sufficient to operate the Garbage Truck. , BY -LAW NUMBER 2213 ( Two Readings) Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pugh, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to stop and close certain portions of raod allowances in the Township of Pickering, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. James , moves that By-Law Number 2213 to close certain portions of raod allowances in the Township of Pickering, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. ) BY-LAW NUMBER 2214 Mr Scott, seconded by Mr. Stewart moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to enter into an agreement with the Police Village of Claremont, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Julian moves that By-Law Number 2214 to enter into an Agreemeent with sthe Police Village of Claremont, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pugh, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law Number 2214 be adopted and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED:, that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.
