Deuartment of Hi~hwaYs - Approval of Roads Supplementar~ By-law No. 2083 for $30,000. Ma~istrate's Office. Oshawa - Fines - May, 1955, $198.85. Ronald Steet - Advising that the Road Superintendent has cut about 25 feet of his trees to widen the By-pass road. He is willing to forego these for a deed of old road allowance. Deuartment of Hi~hways - Audit Department - 1954 Road audit. Hi~hland Creek Sand and Gravel - advising that their trucks will not use Squire's Beach private road in future. J.A.Howard, Co-ordinating Engineer, Scarborough - asking Council's approval to laying watermains on west side of Townline south of Highway No.40l, on a grade that would be the future road grade - Council agreed to meet Mr. Howard any morning at 8 o'clock. R.D.H.P. Conservation Authority - Minutes of meeting held May 18th, 1955. Liveruool Rateuayers' Association - Thanks for Council's attention to their road problems during past winter and spring seasons. The following PERSONS, on motion, were HEARD:- 1. D. B. Redfern. Jr. - submitted two tenders for infiltration gal1ery:- $23,450. $55,000. i. John Patterson Construction Co.Ld, ii. Schwenger Construction Ltd Estimated Engineer's price $25,000. MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Scott, that the tender of John Patterson Construction Co.Ltd, in the amount of $23,450. be accepted upon receipt of two bonds from Chesterhill Developments Limited - one bond guaranteeing payment to the Township of Pickering of $55,000. - the other ror .85,000. guaranteeing to the Township the performance of clauses in Subdivision AgreemeÅ“ between the Township and Chesterhi11 Developments, Limited, dealing with the construction of roads and watermains within the Chesterhill Subdivision, and that the Clerk be advised to inform the Engineer that the tender will be accepted upon receipt of the said performance bonds. CARRIED. 2. A delegation of Rouge Hills West Community Association, headed by Mr. Jolliffe, sought information regarding the benefits of their joining the school area from Council and Mr. Archibald asked Council not to pass the By-law until after they have an Area meeting on June 21st, 1955. AGREED. 3. Mr. Wozney discussed school area. 4. Mr. Ryan, representing Mr. Chambers owner of 177 acres in Conc.5 Lots 12 and 13 - complained about the Township Zoning By-law -2- PERSONS HEARD. Continued: whereby Mr. Chambers could not use his lands for public park purposes. Council agreed to reconsider. 5. Mr. Bennett, Liverpool, discussed street lighting for Glendale - two-family dwellings and roads. CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS: 3. Obtain report from Road Superintendent as to number of yards R. Newman has taken from sideline between lots 20 and 21 in Concession 4, and how much gravel left at 10¢ per yard. Find out about Dominion license, Highland Creek Sand and Gravel Company. Arrange meeting betveBD J.A.Howard of Scarborough and Council at 8 A.M. soon re watermain on town line south of Highway 401. Instruct Hopkins to build fence south of Police Station. 1. 2. 4.
