Reeve Laycox reported that the Metro Toronto and Region Conserv- ation AuthDrity at a meeting held on June 30th agreed to purchase l54 acres of Moore Estate at mouth of Petticoat Creek for~sum of $ 39~,OOO.00 over the objections of members from east of Toronto. AGREED Messrs, Purcell. Campbell and Waring attend proposed meeting. RESOLUTION NUMBER 196/64 MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Waring, that this Council authorize Mr. Lloyd. of Oliver Lloyd and Associates to study the need for extended water services in Pickering Township. at a cost not to exceed $l5.000.00, and that the cost be paid out of water sale revenue; as recommended by the Public Utilities Committee at their meeting of June 17th. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 197/64 MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that where owners of lands fronts on water and/or sewer mains and where the lands were not, included in a Local Improvement Area for the purpose of assessing frontage rates the cost to the owners of connecting to the mains shall include, in addition to the cost of installing the connections from the main to the st~eet line. a rate per foot frontage equivalent to the Township's estimate of what the Local Improvement charges would have been had the services been installed under the Local ImprovemBnt Act and that all charges. so calculated, shall be paid for in cash by the owner prior to the installation of the connections; as recommended by the Public Utilities Committee at their meeting of June l'. 196~. be adopted. Newman and Spang, Mrs. McPherson RESOLUTION NUMBER 198/64 MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Waring. that a Licence be issued to Mr. Brian Austin's son subject recommendation from Chief of Police. Taxi Driver's to a written CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 199/6~ MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Wank, that J. Burrows (the lowest) tender for garbage truck at a price of $6.603,90, inclusive of Federal and Provincial Taxes, be accepted conditional on the Township Engineer's approval. CARRIED - 3 RESOLUTION NUMBER 200/64 MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Wank. that the Council of the Township of Pickering endorse the resolution of the Board of School Area No. 2 that the Township of Pickering be one School Area, and this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Education. Newman and Spang, Mrs. McPherson RESOLUTION NUMBER 201/64 MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Newman, that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent, as recommended by the Township of Pickering Planning Board on June 26, 1964, for William and Alice Gore to convey to William Corbich the rear portion of his property and to retain 50 foot frontage by 300 foot depth, the parcel to be so joined to Mr. Corbich's present lot as to be all one parcel. being part of Lot 5, Plan 330. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 202/6~ MOVED by Mr. Campbells Š-econded by Mr. Waring, that this Council make application to the Onta~io Municipal Board for approval of consent. as recommended by the Township of Pickering Planning Board on June 26. 1964. for Wallace Woolhead to convey to John T. Graham a 7-acre parcel from the south portion of his property having 250 foot frontage and to be so joined to Mr. Graham's present lot as to be all one parcel, being part of Lot 35, Concession 5. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 203/64 MOVED by Mr. Waring, seconded by Mr. Wank. that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent. as recommended by the Township of Pickering Planning Board on June 26. 1964, for Harold and Winnifred Mitchell to convey to the Canadian National Railway Company 5.091 acres for road and right-of-way purposes, being part of Lot 28, Concession l. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 20~/64 MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Waring. that this Council does bereby endorse the racommendation of the Planning Board on June 26. 1964, that this application be refused. CARRIED (Application for kennel licence. Bachmann. Con. 6, Lot 35) RESOLUTION NUMBER 205/64 MOVED by Mr. Waring. seconded by Mr. Campbell, that this Council does hereby endorse the recommendation of the Planning Board on June 26. 1964. that this application be refused. CARRIED (Application for 3 consents. Edmunds, Con. 9. Lot 31) BY-LAW NUMBER 2896 (Second and Third Readings) Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Campbell. moves that By-Law Number 2896 to regulate the construction, repair, renewal or alteration of plumbing be now read a second time. and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Waring, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2896 be adopted. and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED¡ that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED YEA: Messrs. Newman, Laycox, Wank. Campbell and Waring NAY: Mr. Spang, Mrs. McPherson 4 BY-LAW NUMBER 2890 (Third Reading) The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Waring. moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2890 be adopted, as amended, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED YEA: Messrs. Newman. Spang, Laycox. Wank, Campbell and Waring and Mrs. McPherson NAY: None AGREED Township entertain representatives from York County Road Committee. Ontario County Road Committee. Markham Township Road Committee and Pickering Township Road Committee at Robin Hood Inn and discuss status of Markham-Pickering Town Line. AGREED Reeve call a meeting of all School Trustees with Mr. McClelland and discuss Bill 54 and that all members of Council receive the same notice. Time about July 22nd. AGREED Welfare Administrator submit report to Council re proposed two year course in Welfare work. AGREED Auditors check applications for position of Accountant. MOVED by Mrs. McPherson. seconded by Mr. Spang, that the report of the Standing Committee on ROADS-A~tl BRIDGES racommending payment of accounts in the amount of $22,813.97 be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Waring, that the report of the Standing Committee on PUBLIC UTILITIES recommending payment of accounts in the amount of $2.343.62 be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Waring, seconded by Mr. Campbell. that the report of the Standing Committee on PARKS AND RECREATION recommending payment of accounts in the amount of $1.12B.~O be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Waring. seconded by Mr. Campbell, that the report of the Standing Committee on POLICE recommending payment of accounts in the amount of $9.820.5l be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mrs. McPherson. that the report of the Standing Committee on SEWAGE recommending payment of accounts in the amount of $50.506.40 be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Spang~ that the report of the Standing Committee on FINANCE recommending payment of accounts in the amount of $309,896.24 be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Waring. seconded by Mr. Newman, that the report of the Standing Committee on FIRE recommending payment of accounts in the amount of $8.507.23 be-;dõpted. CARRIED! MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that the report of the Standing Committee on PROPERTY recommending payment of ·accounts in the amount of $713.79 be adopted.
