Johnston, Clerk MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Spang, that Mr. Robert Nesbitt of Uxbridge be heard. Mr. Nesbitt stated that recently his wife placed a fire call to the Claremont brigade as a neighbour's barn was on fire, through our Zenith fire number and the operator stated the call was from outside the Claremont fire area which was not true according to our agreement. Clerk contact Fire Chief and have him straighten out and a~9logize to UxHridge Township Clerk. AGREED Reeve and Clerk meet Uxbridge Council Wednesday, May 27th, to get agreement re gravel pit signed. RESOLUTION NUMBER 153/64 HÓVED by Mr. Newman. seconded by Mr. Spang, that the Township accept t~e tender of Turnbull Elevators Ltd. (Garwood Model) for $7,252,69 for packer and the tender of Neil Patrick Motors (G.M.C.) for cab and chassis for $5.819.63 subject to Engineer's approval; these being the lowest tenders. CARRIED ~ RESOLUTION NUMBER l5~/64 kOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Newman, that upon the Township ~olicitors being satisfied that the Township's rights under the provisions of the Subdivision Agreement relating to Plans M-36 and H-37 are being preserved to the maximum that the Reeve and Clerk may exeoute an appropriate letter to be prepared by such Solicitors aCKnowledging that transfer from MacIntosh Investments Limited to Lease Buy Limited of lands on said plan is not to be deemed a sale or t~ansfer thereof under said Subdivision Agreement so as to require immediate satisfaction of the obligations of MacIntosh Investments Limited thereunder, subject to the $l50,OOO.00 bond being assigned to the Township. YEA: All except Mrs. McPherson CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 155/64 MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that the Township Solicitors be instructed to proceed immediately with the necessary by-laws for O. M. B, and O. W. R. C. regarding: ~ ~ (l) The Dunbarton High School Water Extension. (2) The West Rouge Forced Local for sewers ~d water. (3) The Township Industrial Lands water and sewers. with item (1) taking preference. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 156/64 MOVED by Mr. ~ank, seconded by Mr. Campbell, that this Council proceed to engage an architect for the preparation of the necessary material for a Municipal Building in order to obtain the Centennial Grant plus any other applicable gr~nts and that the Clerk prepare the nece~sary by-law for submission to O. M. B. for $300.000.00 subject to reduction of the applicable grants. CARRIED YEA: Messrs. Laycox. Wank, Campbell, Waring NAY: Messrs. Newman and Spang, Mrs. McPherson RESOLUTION NUMBER l57/64 MOVED by Mr. Newman. seconded by Mr. Spang. that the Centennial Grant of $44,000.00 which is given to commemorate Confederation and which is to be used for that purpose and since the Pickering Township Museum Board has presented plans to extend the present facilities to commemorate Confederation. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that a sum of $20,000.00 dollars be given to the Pickering Township Museum Board to carry out their project since this project will not cost the municipal- ity of Pickering any cash outlay and if the Municipality does not use the rest of the grant, that the additional monies be turned over to Pickering Township Museum Board in order that the proposed project may be completed. Campbell and Waring 3 RESOLUTION NUMBER l58/6~ MOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Campbell. that Mr. Saccoccio be called before the Council as Committee of the Whole to discuss the Municipal Building with the intent of having material prepared. This in no way obligates Council to hiring him as our architect. ç CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER l59/6~ MOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Campbell. that the Fire Committee investigate the procedures of all Fire Areas in the Township in order to prevent a re-occurance of the incident that took place recently in the Claremont Fire Area as reported by Mr. Nesbitt of Uxbridge and the Clerk, in the interim. send the necessary contractual data to the appropriate personnel of the above mentioned Fire Area. CARRIED DIRECTIONS l. Councillor Wank report on water connection for Stork next meeting. 2. Clerk check lawyers on Union Agreement. On Motion by Mr. Wank the meeting adjourned.
