Planning Board agrees to a consent for John Finnegan, Con. 2. Lot l~, providing he deed a triangular parcel to Township. 24. Mrs. M. E. McLean asks for a Letter of Tolerance to permit her to add a room, 22 feet by 2~ feet, to her house at north half of Lot 9, Concession 5, for office for Ontario County Co- Operative Medical Services. Has operated from home for 17 years. See Resolution No. l09/64, 25. Resolutions from New Toronto for endorsement: (1) Province consider abolition of taxation for Public and Secondary Schools by proper.ty tax and levy same on earned income. both personal and corporation. (2) That as at present. patients admitted under Ontario Hospital Services Plan. after some months are cut off from benefits and this works a hardship_ Request Province to consider such persons remaining in Hospitals or Nursing Homes f~ee until health restored. 26. Department of Health submits statement and Act on Pollution Control. Province now assumes all responsibility for Pollution Control. but is short staffed. 27. Engineer submits letter from James Murdoch, Con. 4, Lot l~. re road allowance. 30. Engineer submits letter recommending that Barclay Road in Claremont be assumed by by-law. See By-Law No. 2881. 3l. Mr. Fred Ainsworth submits resignation from Planning Board. - 4 - The fOllowing PERSONS were heard: 1. Mr. Saccoccio, Architect, of West Rouge, presented sketches of his designs for schools and chu~ches. He stated a municipal building could be built for $14.00 a square foot and $250,000.00 would build a .l7,000.square feet building. Sketches could be made in two weeks and Mr. C. Ufnal, of East Rouge, would assist. 2. Mr. Wm. Beddall, of R. R. 2, Pickering, Architect, stated that ior $200,OOO.0~ to $250,000.00 an 18.QOO tØ~19.000 square feet building, at $13,00 a square foot. could be erected. Sketches for calling tenders could be prepared in from one to two months. 3, Mr. Zeigler, of Craig, Zeigler and Strachan, with an office in A1 ax. stated a municipal building could be built for from $9.00 to $l5.00 a square foot. with the higher costs getting a better class building. 4. Mr. Lyons. of Bay Ridges Park Board. submitted his ~ all the members of his Board's resignations, stating that they wanted a large paved area where sports could be played rather than a lighted ball field, which the Township Park aDd Recreation Committee wished to push on them. It was AGREED that the resignations be held up pending a meeting between the Reeve, Township Parks Board and Bay Ridges Parks Board to be held as soon as possible. 5. Mrs. Mary E. McLean spoke to her request for a Letter of Tolerance for permission to add a 22' X 24' office to her private home at Lot 9, Concession 5. See Resolution No. l09164 6. Mr. Waller, of Dunbarton. asked that the $500.00 be paid for breaking of land for residential purposes, be returned to him as the money had not been put to any Township use. AGREED Council meet with Planning Board May 22nd, but that Council discuss matter before this date. Notice to be given for any public meeting on the subject. 7, Mrs. Ainsle~. of White's Road. stated that there was a great need for municipal water on White's Road, that 22 of the 26 home owners on the mile and quarter have petitioned for water, It was AGREED that this petition would receive consideration by the Public Utilities Committee. RESOLUTION NUMBER lOa/64 MOVED ÐY Mr. Wank, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that the application for Kennel Licences by Mr. and Mrs. Bachman and Mr. Goden be referred to the Planning Board for recommendations. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER l09/64 MOVED by ~. Spang, seconded by Mr. Newman, that a Letter of Tolerance be granted to Mrs. Mary E. McLean, of Lot 9, Concession 5. Township of Pickering, in that the Township will take no action against a contravention of Zoning By-Law No. 2790 if she adds a room 22 feet by 24 feet to her home to be used as an office for the Ontario Co~ Operative Medical Services as like work has been carried on in her home for the past seventeen years¡ subject to surrounding neighbours' approval. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER llO/54 MOV~D by Mr. Campbell. seconded by Mr. Wank. that this Council submit an offer of purchase to Traders Plumbing and Heating Supplies Limited for approximately eight and one-half (a 1/2) acres in south half of Lot 34, Broken Front. Range 2, for $2,000.00 per acre, and that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to sign such offer of purchase. CARRIED - 5 - RESOLUTION NUMBER lll/64 MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Wank. that the Miller Paving Limited tender for liquid calcium chloride at l4.6 cents per gallon including application be accepted. it being the lowest tender. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER ll2/64 MOVED by Mr. Newman. seconded by Mr. Spang, that the Township Engineer review the tenders for bagged calcium and that he be authorized to purchase the calcium which is tendered at the lowest price arriving at Brougham via various means. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER ll3/64 MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Wank. that the Consolidated Sana and Gravel tender for ~old mex at $6.90 per ton stock piled at their yard, being lower ;:f identical tenders be accepted subject to the Township Engineer's approval. CARRIED - RESOLUTION NUMBER ll4/64 MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Waring, that this Council request the Township of Scarborough to supply municipal water to Open Gate Nursing Home, on receipt of a proper application, and such ,applicant pay 100% of cost of installation and service. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER ll5/64 MOVED by Mr. Wank. seconded by Mr. Campbell, that the Engineer secure estimates from a number of consultant firms as to the cost of a complete survey of the proposed water area, in accordance with recommendation of Committee of the Whole dated April 27, 196~. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER ll8/64 MOVED ~y Mr, Newman. seconded by Mr. Spang, that all requests for Township ~ega~ advice be channelled through the Clerk with ne~essary covering information supplied at the time of request, CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 119/64 MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Newman. that the Council of the Township of Pickering give Fly Ash Transport two weeks' notice to discontinue dumping fly ash in Pickering Township and prior to termination of present agreement that covering operations be completed. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 120/64 MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded tender of Charles Cooper for $~4l.95. by Mr. Newman. that Council accept the a weed sprayer at tendered price of CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER l2l/64 MOVED by Mrs. McPherson. seconded by Mr. Wank, that the person responsible for receiving Township mail keep an incoming registered mail book and such book shall show to whom and when registered letters are dispersed and that all mail for the attention of Council shall go through the Clerk for Council's attention. CARRIED - 6 - RESOLUTION NUMBER l22/64 kOVED by Mr. Campbell. seconded by Mr. Newman. that a Letter of Tolerance be granted to The Liquor Control Board of Ontario for them to build a building 26 feèt from Industrial Road in Lot 22, Concession 1, of the Township of Pickering, and that they be permitted to land- scape only 32' of their lot notwithstanding Zoning By-Law No. 2572 requires a 40 feet set back from any street and 50% of the lot area to be landscaped. as recommended by the Committee of the Whole of the Township of Pickering, CARRIED YEA: NAY: Messrs. Reeve Laycox asked if Council would be willing to sell their five acres at Liverpool if a large Shopping Centre of 30 stores were to be built. Council AGREED to study any proposal. INSTRUCTIONS l. Clerk submit for next meeting a draft copy of agreement with Township of Uxbridge re gravel pit. 2.
