Sherman Scott. in the Chair Mrs. Jean McPherson Harvey Spang Milton J. Mowbray Wm. J. Greening Ross W. Deakin Hubert Wank L. T. Johnston. Clerk The following CORRESPONDENCE was considered: 1. Our Solicitors submit a revised agreement for the Kay storage yard at Concession 2, Lot 26. Clerk notify objectors that permit will be considered by Council on August 6, 1963, at 8 P.M. 2. Metro Toronto Industrial Commission ask Council for membership Yeefor 1963. Roman Catholics have applied for a new school s.ction that will take in a 3 mile radius from a point on Brock Rðad equa-distant from Concession Lines 4 and S. 12. Canadian Nation Railways advise that they cannot let proper grade in new proposed road from Spruce Hill Road ~o Fairport Road so ask Council to agree to their moving this .oad approx- imately 500 feet north and to accomaodate pedestrIans will provide a free concrete pedestrian walk six feet wide over the proposed C.N.R. track at Spruce Hill Road if Council agree, subject to approval of the Board of Transport Commissioners. See Resolution No. 217/63. 2 13. Reeve Scott stated a Mr. Miller was prepared to build a skating arena at Bay Ridges. It was agreed Mr. Miller meet Council next meeting. RESOLUTION NUMBER211J63 MOVED by Mr. Mowbray,·seconded by Mr. Wank. that the system of calling for tenders for Township contracts and purchases be reviewed forthwith by Committee of the Whole Council and that the Clerk, Engineer and Superintendent of Works be and are hereby instructed forthwith to enquire into and report respecting the systems of tendering employed by the Province of Ontario and the County of Ontario. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 212/63 MOVED by Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Wank, that the tender of Flintkote Company to supply 18,000 gal. of R.S.2 emulsion be accepted. MOTION LOST RESOLUTION NUMBER 213/63 MOVEb by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Spang, that Can. Bitumuls Co. Ltd. be given the contract to supply R.S.2 Emulsion for the Roads tendered for 18,000 gals. MOTION LOST RESOLUTION NUMBER 214/63 MOVED by Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Wank, that the offer of 99.51 and accrued interest less 1-1/4% commission from Bell Gouinlock & Company for $839,300.72 Township of Pickering debentures be accepted, which sum includes: $151,694.72 for East Rouge Water Main Extension 637,606.00 for Pickering District High School Board 50,000.00 for Audley School S' 31 J ~ ð 7 v CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 215/63 MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Greening, that this Council request approval of the Department of Highways of Ontario to hire Miller Paving Limited to pave East Avenue, Island Road and Harwood Avenue with Hot Mix Asphalt at a price of H.L. 8 Asphalt at $6.35 per ton and H.L. 3 Asphalt at 6.75 per ton and that Resolution No. 204/63 passed on July 9th. 1963, be repealed. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 216/63 MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that the annual membership fee for the Metro Toronto Industrial, Commission be paid. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 217/63 MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that the proposal of the C. N. 'R. regarding the pedestrian bridge over the railroad on Spruce Hill Road and the diversion road from Spruce Hill Road to Fairport Road as outlined in the letter from Mr. J. L. CeDn dated July 12, 1963, be approved in principal. CARRIED On Motion of Mrs. McPherson the meeting adjourned. APPROVED f1¡'u 1963
