G. .wson stated he was prepared to deed a road allowance for approximately 200 feet north of road in centre Lot 19, Con. 4, from Roekman; would try to dee d from Ya tsula from this point to C.~.R. track if Township would accept deed to Tilling's Road. See Resolution No. 327. 2. MF~ Wm. H. Wood, 1452 Brock Street South, Whitby, owns 10 acres Weet of'Township unopened road allowance between Lots 12-13 immediately north of Concession 4. As a part of Duffin's Creek flows on the road allowance, he would like to rent the road allowance so he can water his lot. - 2 - 3. Mrs. Corry claimed she has a survey o~ her property east of Mr. . Wood's (No.2) and that she owns and pays taxes on original road allowance south of C.P.R. as the new Greenwood Road allow- ance was given by a previous owner of this farm in lieu of old road allowance. 4. Mr. William Fairgrieve objected to dog catcher picking up dead animals which might be infected and also objected to certain clauses in proposed plumber's by-law. 5. Mr. James H. Robinson, owner of a 10 acre industrial site east of Port Union, asked Council to lay a water main to the front of lot of his first new industrial plant. The Reeve felt it should be done under Local Improvement. Mr. Robinson agreed this would be suitable if Mr. Cowan, who owns 19nd to east, would pa.y his sh'1re of the Local Improvellent. Mr. Scott agreed to discuss this with Mr. Cowan. RESOLUTION NUMBER 327 MOVÊD by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Ashton, that this Council is willing to accept deed, at no cost to the Township, to 1297 feet of t09d k~own as the Tillings Road, providing the deed has been procured àt no cost to the Township for that portion of the north and south road 2800 feet south from the. C.P.R. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 328 . MOVED by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Miss Swan, that all Fire Chiefs be i-equired to report to Council every thirty days all grass and brush ~ires in Pickering Township, and their cauSe. MOTION LOST RESOLUTION NUMBER 329 MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seoonde~ by Mr. Spang, that the Road ~uperintendent be authorized to purchase the fOllowing, subject to the approval of the Department of Highways of Ontario: , Prom Sifto Salt, Ltd. - 25 Tons Sale - -Highway Fine" @ $ 12.30 , - $ 307.50 CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER ~30 . !t0WD by Mr. Hawthome, seconded by Mr. Ashton, THAT WHEREAS the Board of Trustees o~ Pickering District High School have applied to the municipal Council having jurisdiction in the said High School District for the issue o~ debentures in an amount not exCeeding $50,000.00 repàyable over a period of 20 years to provide for the cost of con- structing and equipping a new gymnasium a~ Ajax High School; B~ IT RESOLVED that the Council of the Corporation of the Township o Pickering being a municipality included or partly included in the s~id High School District hereby approves the said application a.nd 8grees to assume its proper proportion of the amounts required to pay f~r the said debentures and interest thereon and the expenses connected t~erewith to be determined rrom time to time in the manner provided by T~e Secondary Schools and Boards of Education Act, 1954. Chapman r&ported: i CARRIED (1 ) The stumps on Greenwood Road opposite Mr. Barry Maxwell are green and to remove them now would tear up ditches and cost would be more than :funds available. He would see Ajax Road Superintendent re dangerous condition at bridge on Pickering Beach Road. The cost or gravelling Littleford Road orf Altona Road would be $277.00, and apparently this would be satisfactory to owners. ., MOVED by Mrs. MCPherson, seconded by Mr. James, that accounts amounting ~26.98, as presented by the ROAD AND BRIDGE COMMITTEE, be adopted. CARRIED (2) (3 ) f# - 4 - BY-LA~ NUMBER 2455 (Two Readings) Mr. Ashton, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of ,Pickering to regulate and license Elect- ricians, Master Electricians· and Journeyman Electricians practicing in the Township of Pickering, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Ashton, seconded by Mr. Hawthorne, moves that By-law Number 2455 to regulate and license Electricians, Master Electricians and Journey- man Electricians pr~cticing in the Township of Pickering, be now read ~ second time, ond that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS 1. Clerk check ownership of road allowance between Lots 12 and 13 in Concession 4. 2. Clerk prepare 9greement for Littleford Road grovelling, $277.00, 3.
