Plitz, Clerk MINUTES MOVED by Mr. Newman. seconded by Mr. Spang, that the minutes of meeting held February 2. 1965, be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Waring, seconded by Mr. Spang, that the minutes of meeting held February 15, 1965, be adopted as amended. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 76/65 MOVED by Mr.-Newman, seconded by Mr. Waring, that $100.00 be set aside for a gift (a suitably engraved watch) for presentation to Mr. L. T. Johnston; as recommended by the Finance Committee on February 23, 1965. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 77/65 MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Spang, that By-Law Number 2631 re certain benefits for those employees not covered by the Union Agreement be amended to include those benefits which are now in effect under the Union Agreement, as clauses listed below: lee), 2(3), 2(11), 2(13). 4(a). 6(a) as recommended by the Finance Committee on February 23, 1965. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 78/65 MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Campbell, that Mrs. Parlette be permitted to retain the water service given to the Rougedale Acres Subdivision Watermain. since she had already paid Mr. McIntosh $600.00 for this connection prior to the resolution stipulating the present charges and that the Township endeavour to collect from McIntosh Investments the township charges for connection of private lands to a subdivision service. as recommended by the Public Utilities Committee on February 17, 1965. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 79/65 MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Waring, that WHEREAS the Board of Trustees of the Pickering Bigh'School District have applied to the municipal councils having jurisdiction in the said High School District for the issue of debentures in an amount not exveeding $ 87,000.00 repayable over a period of 20 years to provide for the purpose of making permanent improvements to the existing high school at Ajax consisting of an addition to the site of 14 t acres; BE IT RESOLVED ~pat the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering being a municipality included or partly included in the said High School District hereby approves the said application and agrees to assume its proper proportion of the amounts required to pay for the said debentures and interest thereon and the expenses connected there- with to be determined from time to time in the manner provided by The Secondary Schools and Boards of Education Act, 1954. CARRIED 2 BY·LAW NUMBER 2942 (Third Reading - $102,000.00 debenture. School Area 2) !.. Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Wank, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2942 be adopted, and that the said ~-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the~eorporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED ~ BY-LAW NUMBER 2982 Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize a project in observance and commemoration of the Centennial. and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Newman. seconded by Mrs. McPherson, moves that By-Law Number 2982 to authorize a project in observance and commemoration of the Centennial be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Wanke moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2982 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affized thereto~ CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Spang, that the report of the Standing Committee on PROPERTY, recommending payment of accounts amounting to $628.0~ be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Campbell, that the report of the Standing Committee on SEWAGE, recommending payment of accounts amounting to $4.067.15,~e adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that the report of the Standing Committee on BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT. recommending payment of accounts amounting to $887.8~ be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Wanke seconded by Mr. Campbell, that the report of the Standing Committee on PUBLIC UTILITIES, recommending payment of accounts amounting to $3,829.42,~e adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Waring, that the report of the Standing Committee on PARKS AND RECREATION, recommending payment of accounts amounting to $287.491' be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that the report of the Standing Committee on FINANCE, recommending payment of accounts amount- ing to $l49,317.98,~e adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Waring, seconded by Mr. Wank, that the report of the Standing Committee on POLICE. recommending payment of accounts amounting to $10.874.24.~be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Newman. that the report of the Standing Committee on ENGINEERING ,recommending payment of accounts amounting to $4,428.22,~e adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Spang, that the report of the Standing Committee on ROADS AND BRIDGES. recommending payment of accounts amounting to $24,906.18 {'be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr, Sppng, seconded by Mr. Campbell, that the report of the Standing Committee on WELFARE, recommending payment of accounts amount- tAg to $6,286.02,,^be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Wank, seconded by Mr. Newman, that the report of the Standing Committee on SANITATION, recommending payment of accounts amounting to $2,932.95~ be adopted. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Waring, seconded by Mr. Newman, that the report of the Standing Committee on FIRE, recommending payment of accounts amounting to $5,lll.13,~e adopt~ CARRIED 3 ~ Mrs. J. McPherson gave a brief report on the selling of unused road allowances in the Township of Pickering (re Petty) Lots 34/35, Concession 2, and it was reaffirmed that road allowance should not be sold. See Resolution No. 207/62 which reads "Moved by Mrs. J. McPherson, seconded by Mr. R. Deakin, that this Council wes not permit the selling, leasing, renting or closing of any of the ~wnship road allowances". This resolution was passed by Council on July 23, 1962. Mr. C. W. Laycox gave a brief report on the sale of Township lands at LiverpoOl Road and Highway No. 2 and recommended the matter be held over until Council meet on Monday, March 8th, 1965. Council to meet at 7 p. m. on Monday, March 8, 1965. Finance Committee to meet 8 p. m. Tuesday, March 9. 1965. INSTRUCTIONS 1.
