Ontario Municipal Board gives notice that it will hold a hearing on our Zoning By-Law No. 2511 (lands south of Highway 40~), at Brougham on Wednesday, October 4, 1961, at 10 a. m. 2. Pickerins: District His:h School., Board submits a letter of approval of sketch plans for the new Vocational Wing at Dunbarton High High School. This addition will contain 16 rooms, accommodate 370 pupils, and cost $710,510.00, which cost will be borne by the Federal and Provincial Governments. 3. Ihe Villas:e of Stouffville invites all members of Council and their ladies to the .opening of their new "main street" by W. J. Fulton, Deputy Minister of Highways, on Friday, Sept. 8, 'at 3 p. m. 4. Board of Transport Commissioners of Canada give notice that they will sit at Claremont at 11 a. m., Sept. 26th, to hear any objections to the removing or the agent from the Claremont C. P. R. Station. Location or meeting lert to Township. OUr Township Solicitor asks if he should attend. See Resolution No. 301761. ' 5. Depart'4ent of Hi~hways of Ontario has forwarded Township request for a West Rouge sign on Highway 401 to their Signing Committee for a decision as this is a change to their general policy. 6. Consumers' Gas Company submit a copy of new lower gas rates. - 2 - 7. Michael Picov claims that due to Township building a road to the wate r Pl.aJ::l.t.--his fences have been broken and windows and doors in houses broken, and,-the plumbing removed. He asks Council to put all things back as they were before Township road work was done. See Resolution No. 302/61. 8. The County of Peel asks the Township to endorse their res- olution to legalize a National Hospital Sweepstakes under govemment control with profit going to hospitals. See Resolution No. 303/61. 9. Planning Board submits eight requests for consents. See Resolutions Nos. 290/61 to 297/61. 10. Copy of Planning Board resolution re Official Plan. 11. W. J. Powell, Fairport, submits a petition of ten owners who object to municipal water at Fairport. The following PERSONS on MOTION, were heard: 1. MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Laycox, that Mr. D. Gibson and Mr. R. Byron be heard. CARRIED Mr. 'Gibson, who was chairman of publicity for the Pickering Township Anniversary, thanked his Committee, Council, and all who helped him; then presented to Council a record book of all newspaper articles re the celebration prepared by Mrs. Hilda Wilson, of Consolidated Building Corporation. See Resolution No. 300/61. 2. MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Laycox, that Mrs. Hilda Wilson, of Consolidated Building Corporation be heard. CARRIED Mrs. Wilson also thanked Council for co-operation re Township Anniversary and stated her company had been happy to have a part in it. 3. MOVED by Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that Mrs. Margaret Eagleson be heard. CARRIED Mrs. Ea~leson stated the Bay Ridges Recreation Association expected Consolidated Building Corporation to donate a building to their Club and asked if such building could be controlled by residents of Bay Ridges. Reeve Scott felt that if grants were made by Township and Province, then it became public, but would consult the Township Solicitors. RESOLUTION NO. 290/61 MOVED by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that this Council mäke application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for John Cromie and Jessie Cromie to convey to the Canadian National Railways Company a parcel of 2.99 acres, part of Lot 32 Concession l as required for the Railway's Access Line right-of- way; as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board September I, 1961. CARRIED RESOLUTION NO. 291/61 MOVED by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Spang, that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for John Hofley and Mary Hafley to convey to Elsie Myrtle Ogden the most easterly 50 feet from front to rear of Lot No.9, Registered Plan 432, Fairport; as recommended by the Township of Pickering Planning Board. CARRIED - 3 - RESOLUTION NO. 292/61 Moved by Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Spang, that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for Lockhart William Trinnell and Grace Emily Trinnell to convey to Francois Robert Marinus a parcel with 90 feet frontage on Highway NO.2, and a depth of 180 feet, part of Lot 17, Registered Plan No. 230; as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board September 1st, 1961. CARRIED RESOLUTION NO. 293/61 MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for Alexander Gourlie to convey to' the Pickering District High School Board a parcel of 3.6 acres, part of Lot 29" Broken Front" Range 3; as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board Sept. I, 1961. CA~ED RESOLUTION NO. 294/61 MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that. this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for Vemon Disney to convey to William Wright and Jem Wright Lot 7 Registered Plan 469, which has a frontage of 100 feet and a depth of 478 feet; as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board September I, 1961. CARRIED RESOLUTION NO. 295/61 MOVED by Mr. Boyes, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board ror approval of consent for Barbara E. M. Pascoe to convey to John Charles Shephe rd and Mary Lois Shepherd, part of Lot 5, John Shierts Plan of the Village of Brougham (part of Township Lot 19, Con. 5) a parcel 65 feet X 250 feet; as recommended by Township of Pickering Planning Board Sept. I, 1961. CARRIED RESOLUTION NO. 296/61 MOVED by Mr. Deakin seconded by Mr. Laycox, that this Council make application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for Louis Franklin MacFarlane to convey to Mary Carson, a parcel 82',6tt by 439 feet, with existing dwelling, part of Lot 32, Con. B.F. R.3, as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board August 4, 1961. CARRIED RESOLUTION NO~ 301/61 MOVED by Mr. pang, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that our solicitors be instructed toClappear before the Board of Transport Commissioners at Claremont on 26th September, 1961, to make sul:m11ssions on our behalf against the proposed removal of the agent from the Claremont C. P. R. Station and that the Community Hall in Claremont be des- ignated as the place for the hearing. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2627 Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Laycox, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to amend By-Law No. 2511, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Deakin, moves that By-Law Number 2627 to amend By-Law Numbe r 2627 to amend By-Law No. 2511, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. James seconded by Mr. Spang, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2627 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSEJ); that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED BY -LAW NUMBER 2628 (Two Readings) Mr. Deakin seconded by Mr. Mowbray moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize an application to the Ontario Municipal Board for an order enlarging the defined limits of Fire Area No. 1 and decreasing the limits of Fire Area No.3, all in the south part of the Township of Pickering, and that same now be read a fi rst time. Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Boyes" moves that By-Law Numbe r 2628 to authorize an application to the Ontario Municipal Board for an order enlarging the defined limits of Fire Area No. I and decreasing the limits of Fire Area No.3, all in the south part of the Township of Pickering, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
