See Resolution Number 269/60. Mr. Youns:, of East Rouge" objected to rowdiné88 at Rouge River west of his property and asked Council to replace "No Tres- passing" signs, and that Police en.force uNo Parking" By-law. Reeve Scott see Police Chief I and Mr. Ashton replace signs. Mr. William Fairs:rieve claimed that with closing of' Spruce Hill Road and Pire Ridge Road, a sidewalk was necessary on Fairport Road, and asked that Council demand such a sidewalk .from Canadian National Raiways. Mr. Holter, of West Rougel requested that: (1) The lettering on new Water Tank give more prominence to West Rouge than Pickering Township. (2) That Sanitation Department be required to pick up grass cuttings. Council agreed to amend By-law if necessary. (3) The drainage condition at rear of' their eight lots be improved. Engineer report to Council. Our Solicitor, Hr. -1\9b1n~, submitted a "Go-Kart" by-law. Mr. Kerr questioned the '500.00 fee, zoning, asphalt track, banking of' corners, roll-bar, stick helmets, horse power, tires, St. John's Ambulance in attendance at all times, hours, and age limit of dri'geMJ. Councillor James reported on the Central lake Ontario Con- servation Authority, stating that it may be re-organized, due to friction among the various municipalities. Council reported unfavourably on the lower end o.f Hillview Avenue being opened to permit owners o.f cottages in A. D. Y. Camp to use it. It was AGREED Council should discuss matter of legal assist- ance for Puckrin appeal July 25th. RESOLUTION NUMBER 252/60 MOVED by Mr. Iaycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that Oliver Lloyd and Associates Limited be requested to review the design o.f the Sewage Treatment Plant at Frenchman's Bay and that two sets or plans and specirications be given them.' CARRIED RESOLUTION ~R 253/60 MOVED by Mr~ Iaycox, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that Council will purchase the H~we property located on Highway No. 2 and adjacent to the i'3 soo existing parklands on receipt o.f $5,067.50, from the Rouge Hill Community Park Board of Management, George Botton, Secretary. Goodrich Company Limited: 4 -'10.00 X 20 tires @ $125.33, to total $501.32, being a special of'fer, less 10% discount. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 255/60 MOVED by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Boyes.. that the Road Superin- tendent be authorized to hire trucks from Barclay Transport, 100 hours @ $4.00, for a total of $400.00. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 256/60 MOVED by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Laycox, that the Road Super- intendent be authorized to purchase from Fledco Concrete, 650 feet of 18" Culvert Pipe, @ $1.35, for a total of $877.50, subject to the approval of the Department of Highways of Ontario. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 260 60 M9 by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Laycox, that the tender of Mr. Claude Smith, dated July 11, 1960, for crushing and/or stock- piling 20,000 tons of' gravel at an off-belt price of . 31¢/ton, and stockpiled price of .39¢ per ton, be accepted. Jef'ferson be hired as Township Engineer, under the terms of ref'erence and salary existing at the time of his resignation. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 265/60 MOVED by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Hawthorne, that upon request of the operating Park Board, that the Township of Pickering may match, dollar for dollar, monies raised for the renovation, repair and improvement of public parks and halls wherein the title is vested with the Township, in accordance with a recommendation of the Specia! Parks Committee. CARRIED YEA: Messrs. James, Spang, Hawthorne, Scott, Laycox, Deakin, Boyes. NAY: None RESOLUTION· NUMBER 266/60 MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. James, that Mr. Gerigs, our Dog Catcher, be granted regular salary extra pay f'or two weeks I Holiday periód in lieu of two weeks' holidays. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 267/60 MOVED by Mr. James,seconded by Mr. Spang, that Council take no action with regards to opening of Hillview Avenue Plan 342, as suggested by «os. Ambrus. CARRIED RESO~UTION NUMBER 268/60 MOVED by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Laycox, that the water tank in West Rouge be lettered to give the words "West Rouge" predominance in size and be above Pickering Township. Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Deakin, aoves that By-Law Number 2530 to appoint an Engineer for the Township or Pickering, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee or the Whole thereon. The Committee of' the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law Number 2530 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Laycox, moves that By-Law Number 2531 to provide for the 1960 supplementary expenditures on roads in the Township of Pickering, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. James, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2531 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2532 Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to appeal the 1960 equalization assessment by-law Number 2055 of the County of Ontario, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves that By-Law Number 2532 to appeal the 1960 equalization assessment by-law Number 2055 of the County of Ontario be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2532 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED: that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.
