PRESENT: J. Sherman Scott, in the Chair H. Ross Hawthorne Harvey Spang Edgar James Harry Boyes Ross Deakin Clifford Laycox L. T. Johnston, Clerk The following CORRESPONDENCE was read: 1. Notice, Ontario MuniciDal Board Heariq~, Water Area II July 22, at lOA. M. 2. Denartaent of Hidtways of Ontario Audit Report: "Records found in excellent order and every assistance extended by Roads Office Staff". Net Dr. $580.31. 3. RoUJre Hills Golf and Country Club took exception to Deputy-Fire Chief r s report on his Club House. Not a problem for Council. 4.- Notice of T.V. programme on Housin~, JUly 5th, at 10 p. m. May be of interest to Council members. 5. Health Unit submits correspondence re sewage disposal at 79 Fanfare Avenue We st Rouge. They state the only remedy is Municipal sewage. 6. Proctor and Redfern ask what lettering should be used on Town- ship water storage tank. 7. HuntinJl Survey CorDo~tion Limited, quoted price of $2,050.00 plus tax to survey 4100 acres between wts 21 to 35, Base Line to lake. The following PERSONS, on MOTION, were heard: 1. Donald S. McIntosh stated he proposed to build home s of 1250 to 1300 square feet, and that he is unable to get such houses on his lots with a 30 foot setbáck, so asked that he be permitted to build with setbacks of 20 feet to 30 feet. NO ACTION TAKEN 2. Mrs. Thomas Wheeler spoke on the proposed "fencing of swimming pools" and recouuƓnded that a night light be not required, and that fences should be in keeping with areal and that good thick hedges should be equal to a fence. 3. Mr. Alex Munroe was satisfied that conditions in McIntosh Agreement overcame his objections. 4. Messrs. McIntosh and Scott 4180ua_4 8ubdivision agreement for Bange 2 Lot 35. 5. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 228/60 H~VED by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. James, that the Township o Pickering sign the letter addressed to the Minister of Municipal Affairs, attention Mr. K. Hidaka, dated June 20, 1960, File No. T12475. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 230/60 MOVED by Mr. Iaycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that a sign be erected on Chesterhill Road leading to Mr. Cowan's home just east of the Price and Knott Factory, reading "Stop" No Thoroughfare - ~ot a Through Street". CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 231/60 MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that the lettering on the West Rouge Water Tank be: "Pickering Township" in large letters and "West Rouge" in small letters. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 232/60 MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that the rent now paid to Claremont Police Village for the use of entire Fire Hall be increased from $50.00 per month to $80.00 per month, commencing July 1, 1960. CARtITED RESOLUTION NUMBER 233/60 MOVED by Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that Claremont Trustees be requested to put in writing what their intentions are regarding the' raising of monies for proposed new tanker and equipment for Claremont Fire Department. CAIDiIED RESOL~JON NUMBER 236/60 MOVED by Mr-~ Hawthorne seconded by Mr. Deakin, that the Solicitor for the TO~lShip of Pickering check the Act, particularly Section "?'lA" of 388, MWlicipal Act, and write the necessary by-law to regulate Go-Kart tracks. CARt\IED BY-LAW NUMBER 2522 Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the' Township of Pickering to authorize the Reeve and Clerk to sign an agreement with McIntosh Inve stments Limited and The Corporation of the Township of Pickering, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Jaycox, seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves that By-Law Number 2522 to authorize the Reeve and Cle~k to sign an agreement with McIntosh Investmënts Limited and The Corporation of the Township of Pickering, be now read a- second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Iayoox, seconded by Mr. James, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law No. 2522 be adopted, and that the said By-law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve an1.-'Clerk sign the. same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. Deakin, moves for leave to introduce a By~Law of the Township of Pickering to appoint a Treasurer-Collector ~~or the Township and that same now be read a first time. Mr. James" secönded by Mr. laycox, moves that By-law Number 2523 to appoint a Treasurer-Collector for the Township, be now read a" second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-law as read. Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law NOe 2523 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED-¡ that the Reeve and Clerk sign t~e same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.
