William Fair£rieve thanked Council for Recreation Committee supplying the Dunbarton Home and School Association with athletic equipment. 4. Mr. Alex Munroe asked about the composition of the High School Board. 6. Mr. Peters of West Rouge" also asked about appointment of High School Board members, stated he had a septic tank problem and the Sanitary Inspector had tested water in Township ditch and found it was 98% sewage effluent. Reeve Scott stated he felt that sewers would be installed in West Rouge in about one and one-half years. 7. Mr. Lamb" of Rivercourt Drive" stated that after each heavy rain" water" silt, etc." flowed onto his front lawn from Island Road. He had been promised that the condition would be rectified on numerous occasions. Mr. Chapman agreed with Mr. Lamb and promised work would be done in two weeks, weather pennitting. 8. Mr. Werner Grantner, Fairport Road north" complained about his neighboUP's toilet being in a watercourse and offensive. Mr. Robson, the Sanitary Inspector, had viewed same, and done nothing; also that the road was in a bad state of disrepair. Mr. Chapman stated that Fairport Road North would be prepared for pavement this year and paved in 1961. Mr. Grantner com- plained about speeding and Mr. Deakin agreed to ask Chief Parker to put the speed trap on this road. 9. A. W. Cane read a letter from Mr. Eilbeck, of Provincial Depart- ment of Recreation, stating that he had been misquoted, and that Pickering Township Recreation Committee were operating to his satisfaction and would receive a grant. 10. Jack Chapman explained a number of resolutions he wished Council to pass. CARRIED SOLUTION NUMBER 05 60 VE,ù by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Spang, that the firm of Oliver . oyd and Associates be engaged as required to act as the Township Consultant Engineers in preparing a subdivision agreement with the døvelopers of the Rougedale Acres Subdivision. I, is understood that the Township is to be reimbursed for the fees charged for this service by the developer under the terms of the pr9posed agreement. CARRIED - 3 - / / RESOLUTION NUMBER 206/60 MOVElJ by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that the firm of Oliver Lloyd and Associates be engaged as required to act as the Township Consultant Engineers during the checking of the plans and specifications of the Consolidated Development (Bay Ridges Develop- ment) prior to registration. It is understood that the Township is to be reimbursed for the fee s charged for this service by the Developer under the terms of the Subdivision Agreement. CARRIElJ RESOLUTION NUMBER 213/60 MOVElJ by Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that the Road Super- intendent be authorized to purchase approximately 75,000 gallons liquid chloride from: 1. Miller Paving Ltd. @ $ .139¢ per gal, for 35% 2. Pollard Bros. @ .135¢ per gal. for 34% (as these quotes are comparative we recommend-dual purchases, approximately 50% from each Company) Approximately, $10,125.00. Members: F. B. Baker, William Power, E. Head, D. A. Beer" and Kalman Vizely. Mr. Deakin" seconc1ed by Mr. Boyes, moves that By-law Number 2516 to appoint members to the Township of Pickering Recreation Committee and to repeal By-law No. 2468, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Deakin" secon4ed by Mr. Hawthorne" moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2516 be adopted" and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same" and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS 1. Check Whitevale 30 mile per hour s~ecl limit; ask Solicitor if ". heavy traffic can be re-routed to miss Whitevale Hamlet. 2. Check "No Parking" By-Law for Frenchman's Bay on LivelJDol Road ..... and prepare new By-law for no parking on certain streets (one side). 3. Check supplementary assessment for Miss V. Swan, $190.00. 4. Phone Mr. Robson re W. Grantner toilet problem. 5. Send copy of Mr. Lloyd's account to Mr. Stevens. 6. Prepare By-Law for fencing swimming pools.
