Mr, Ben l4t-ton asked that Horticultural Society be given a grant to keep up ce.otaph at Concession 1 and Altona Road, and asked for a cnécker-board at Ers~ne Cemetery to protect cemetery fence. See Resolution Number 140/60. The following PERSONS, on MOTION, were heard. 3. 4. I... Mrtt Russe~l Dixon discussed his proposed "Go-Kart" project on Lot 30, Concession B.R. R. 3, stating he expected about five "Karts", possibly .ore, and that there would be no racing. See Resolution Number 139/60. 2. Mr. J~ck ~scombe, Concession 4, Lot 19, stated the By-Law Enforce- ment of d-.t on Pit Run private road and noise 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, was not enforced and asked that something be done i.DuIediately or a letter given that Council cannot enforce such By- laws so he cou).d ask Department of' Highways to take action. Clerk ask By-Law Enforcement Officer to take action under By-J:aws 2425 and 1860 as soon as possible. 3. CARRIED BY-~W ~ 2~04 Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves for leave to introduce a By- law of the Township of Pickering to prohibit the running at large of dogs within the Township of Pickering, to establish a Dog POWld and provide for regulations required in connection therewith, and to repeal By-law Number 2379, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Hawthorne, moves that By-law Number 2504 to prohibit the running at large of dogs within the Township of Pickering, to establish a Dog POWld and previde for regulations required in corm- ection therewith, and to, repeal By-Law Number 2379, be now read a second time., arid that Council go into ÇomJnittee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-law as read. Mr. Spang, seconded by Mr. Deakin, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law No. 2504 be adopted, and that the said By-law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed the re to. Scott, Spang Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves for leave to introduce a By-law of the Township of Pickering to amend By-law Number 2502 which levies certain rates on the various school sections for the year 1960 and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. Boyes" moves that By-law Number 2507 to amend By-law Number 2502 which levies certain rates on the various school sections for the year 1960 be now read a second time, and that Council go into Commdttee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-law as read. Mr. Hawthorne, seconded by Mr. James, moves that the' report of' the Committee of' the Whole on By-Law No. 2507 be adopted, and that the said By-law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same" and the Seal of the· Corporation be affixed thereto. ~JE,D 3 BY-LAW NUMBER ~508 Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Hawthorne, moves for leave to introdllce a By-law of' the Township of Pickering to authorize the Reeve and Clerk to sign rental agreements and acceptance agreements for Claremont and Brougham fire equipment and storage and that same now be read a first time . Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. James" moves that By-Law Number 2508 to authorize the Reeve and Clerk to sign rental 'agreements and acceptance agreements for Claremont and Brougham fire equipment and storage be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2508 be adopted" and that the said By-law be now read a Third time and ,PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same" and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2509 Mr. Laycox" seconded by Mr. Deakin" moves for leave to introduce a By- Law of the Township of Pickering to provide for the collection of taxes for the year 1960 and that same now be read a first time. Mr. laycox" seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves that By-Law Number 2509 to provide for the collection of taxes f'or the year 1960 be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. laycox) seconded by Mr. James" moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law No. 2509 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same" and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. Deakin, l1900nded by"Mr. Iaycox.. that the By-Law Enforce- ment Officer bring By-law No. 2425 to the attention of all the pit operators immediately and notify them that it is the intention of the Municipali ty to enf'orce this By-law.
