An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on MONDAY the EIGHTH day of
NOVEMBER, 195~, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.
PRESENT: G. T. Todd, in the Chair

L. T. Johnston
The following PERSONS on MOTION were heard:
1. Mr. Jesso~, owner of Lot 1, Plan 250, asked permission to rent
sideline cetween Lots 6 and 7 from Lake to a point 200 feet
north so that cars may not be parked in his gateway. AGREED
2. W. Bennett, President Liverpool Ratepayers' Assoeiation; asked
questions about Police Department, requested to submit questions
and Council would ask Police Commission for answers.
3. Mr. Mason, Chairman Liverpool Ratepayers Association - Community
Efforts - asked if they may have use of six Township lots in
Plan 521.
The following CORRESPONDENCE was read:

Proctor Redfern and Lauihlin submitted plans and costs of
propose! water system in Frenchman's Bay - Liverpool area.
Ernest McKeown advised that he could not act as Poll Clerk in
PoJling Place No. 14. Mr. Newman agreed to get a substitute.
Chief Hill advised that Woodbine Heights Branch 22, Canadian
Legion had been refused permission by their District Council
to hold picnics at Sun Valley Park.
Chief Hill approved Taxi Driver's License for J. P. Kusiar.

MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seaonded by Mr. Balsdon, that Liverpool Ratepayers'
Association be permitted to use, without cost to them, the si~Township
lots in Plan 521 for playground or rink until May 1, 1955. CARRIED
AGREED hold water meeting Tuesday, November 23, 1954, at Bay Road School.
BY-LAW NUMBER 2018 (Third Readin~t
Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Michell, moves that the report of the
Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2018 to regulatè private sewage
disposal systems be now read a third time and PASSEDf that the Reeve
and Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the Corporation be
affixed thereto. CARRIED
BY-LAW NUMBER 2043
Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Newman, moves for leave to introduce a
By-Law of the Township of Pickering to provide for a vote being
taken of the Electors in a proposed water area on the question:
"Are you in favour of t}e establishment of a Municipal Water
system at an approximate cost of $370,000.00?" and that same now
be read a first time.
Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, moves that By-Law Number 2043
to provide for a vote being taken of the Electors in a proposed
water area on the question: "Are you in favour of the estáblishment
of a Municipal Water system at an approximate cost of $370,000.00?",
be now read a second ttme, and that Council go into Committee of
the Whole thereon.

The Committee of t1la Whole then arose and reported.
Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Michell, moves that the Report of the
Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2043 be adópted, and that the
said By-Law be now read a third time and PASSED; that-the Reeve
and Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the Corporation,be
affixed thereto. CARRIED

a By-Law of the Municipal Corporation of the Township of Pickering
to provide for a vote being taken of the electors on the questión:
"Are you in favour of the division of the Township into wards?",
and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves that By-Law No; 2044
to provide for a vote being taken of the electors on the question:
"Arà you in favour of the division of the Township into wards?"
be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of
the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole then arose and reported.
Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, moves that the report of the
Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2044 be adopted, and that
the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the
Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the _ Corpo:r~tion
be affixed thereto. CARRIED
On MOTION of Mr. Newaan the meeting adjourned.
