M U N I C I PAL B U I L DIN G BROUGHAM Am Emergent Meeting of Council was held on MONDAY, the EIGHTEENTH day of OCTOBER, 1954, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening. PRESENT: George T. Todd, in the Chair C. A. Balsdon W. G. Newman W. G. Lawson H. G. Michell L. T. Johnston The following persons, on Motion, were heard: Mr. Parlmer, complaining that Award of Mr. Horton under the Ditches and Watercourse Act whereby the water is to run through his property is not satisfactory to him. Mr. Ward directed to submit cost of taking water away by an all-road route. Mr. Bennett and 22 members of the Liverpool Ratepayers Association (1) protesting inCreased assessment, (2) asking that sittin~of Court of Revision be at night, ()} asking for full report on Police Department, (4) asked for street numbering on Glendale and Liverpool Road,(5} asking that the six lots donated by Mr. Hough for subdivision ,be leased to them for a park, (6) complained about road, (7) asked Road Superintendent to give them advice about a well on Lot 16, Plan 531, caving in, (8) asked for a By-Law to require re-inforced cement tops on all wells, (9) Street Lighting. The following CORRESPONDENCE was read: Proctor Redfern andLau~hlin advised that they weee working on revised plans for first phase 0 water scheme. Fines - September, $ 329.72 T. M. Moore - advice re Defaulter's List By....Law. T. M. Moore - advice re Junk Yards By-Law. "5. Notice Ajax Hearing; re incorporation. '6. Donald Annan, requesting Brock Road in B.F. R.2 be re-opened. Clerk advise Alex Picov to remove fence. '7. Walter Ber~an objected to paying bill for oiling road. Mr. Bergman and others agreed to pay for this service, but later Council agreed to oil or calcium main roads. AGREED Mr. Bèrgman'neèdunot"pay fòr this service. '8. Mr. W. O. Bennett comnlained about cost of survey for his lot bought at Tax Sale. Council agreed he should pay entire cost. 9. Mrs. R. Adamson asked if Council would pay any part of cost of sidewalk on North.': li'airport Road~ number of years indebtedness should run, and if they could recommend which Tender to accept. )MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that the cost of the proposed sidewalks on Altona Road and Fairport Road North be built and paid for by Township, 40%, and owners, 60%, over a period of three years. MOTION LOST 'MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Michell, that the cost of the proposed sidewalks on Altona Road and Fairport Road North be built and paid for by owners under Local Improvement, that debentures be issued therefor over a term of 15 years, and that Tender of cost plus 10% be not considered. CARRIED }MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Tenders be called for Michell bridge on Concession 7, approximate 40 foot span if Reeve is unable to have County take over this Bridge.
