PRESENT: George T. Todd, in the Chair Clare A. Balsdon William G. Newman William G. Lawson Hugh G. Michell L. T. Johnston Mr. A. J. Thompson was present and stated he would enforce By-Laws in North Pickering at $ 1.50 per hour, and 8¢ car allowance. MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that A. J. Thompson act as B¥.-Law Enforcement Officer for North Pickering Township, and be paid ~ 1.50 per hour while on duty plus regular car mileage allowance of 8¢ per mile. CARRIED Council discussed road oilihg, paving, and use of calcium chloride. MOVED by Nœ. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that the Township oil or calcium all main roads and that Township supply free and lay two bags calcium in front of every house which is situated within 200 feet of a Township road, and in the case of a house situated on a corner lot an extra bag be laid. Should any ratepayer wish more they may purchase same from Township at $ 1.00 per bag and lay it themselves, and that all persons who have purchased more than two bags or corner lots, 3, be refunded to this amount. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by ~æ. Newman, that the Road Department pave this year (1) sideline between Lots 10 and 11, Concession 2 - lk miles, cold mix. (2) By-Pass road in B.F. Range 3, Lot 27-28, one-half mile, cold mix. (3) Concession 5, Whitevale to Town line, ~ miles, hot mix. (4) Con. I, Lot 33-34, ~ mile, hot mix. Total, 3 miles. CARRIED AGREED to prepare for 1955 paving: 3. 4. Pine Street from Rougemount to Crescent along Crescent to Dyson Road to Old Roseban~ Road, three-quarter miles. Sideline between Lots 8 and 9 in Concession 2, one and one- quarter miles. Altona Road between Third. and -Fourth Concession, one and one- quarter miles. Babe Lihe ôppooitc Lot 22, ono half mi18. Total - 3 ~ m·ìles. AGREED Messrs. Lawson, Balsdon and Ward see Mrs. Soden about purchasing Gravel Pit. 2. 1. CLERK to check on removal of Sales Tax on Municipal supplies.
