CARRIED 5. / MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson that culvert pipe be placed in front of A. A. Grills at Fairport Beach to run water south to the lake, and also that culvert pipe be placed on Old Forest Road, extending south-easterly to the creek, all at Township expense. MOTION LOST 7 M6VED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that culvert pipes be placed on Old Forest Road south-easterly to creek to take surface water from south side of Old Forest Road. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that culvert pipe be placed in front of Mr. Grill's property to south at Fairport Beach so 7 as to get the surface water away from Lakeview Avenue, providing that one-quarter of cost be paid by the Fairport Beach Ratepayers' Association. CARRIED MOVED by l~. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Council take over ì existing Orchard Drive and Douglas Avenue, as travelled in Plan 432 without cost to the ratepayer, as the roads have been brought up to Township standard. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that motion "that culvert ( pipe be placed in front of Mr. Grills' property to south at Fairport . Beach so as to get the surface water away from Lakeview Avenue, providing that one-quarter of cost be paid by the Fairport Beach Association" passed at this meeting be rescinded and the following motion take its place: "That culvert pipe be placed in front of Mr. Grill's property to south at Fairport Beach so as to get the surface water away from Lakeview Avenue, providing that $ 25.00 be paid by the Fairport Beach Association". CARRIED - 2 - MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that Council take over ì Broadway Road in Frenchman's Bay to the end of the present gravelled road as it is now up to Township standard. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Michell, that Council purchase > from Innes Equipment Limited one used Crushing Plant with Woodstock 1016 Jaw Crusher, Cedar Rapids, 1616 Rolls Crusher, Double Deck screen, Drag line attachment, bin and conveyo~ for $ 14,000.00 less trade-in allowance on used Cat. D 315 Diesel engine and Sawyer Massey 1020 Jaw Crusher, $ 3,000.00. Delivery, Brougham. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Eddie's Taxi get > three Taxi Licenses with Chief of Police approval. CARRIED X MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that Ace Taxi be granted a License, if agreeable to Chief of Police. CARRIED X MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that Mr. Kenneth Jatiouk, applying for Taxi License, be heard. CARRIED ~ MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Mr. K. Jatiouk be given a Taxi License to operate from Liverpool Corners, if approved by Chief Hill, and also that he obtain the necessary insurance. CARRIED CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS l. BY-LAW ,NUMBER 2007 Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Municipal Corporation of the Township of Pickering to appoint members to the Pickering-Whitby Townships Joint Planning Board, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Balsdon, seconded by ~œ. Newman, moves that By-Law No. 2007 to appoint members to the Pickering-Whitby Townships Joint Planning Board~ be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole then arose and reported. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2008 Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to confirm by By-Law the employing of an Assessor and Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, moves that By-Law No. 200$ to confirm by By-Law the employing of an Assessor and Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole then arose and reported. Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves that the Report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law Number 2008 be now read a Third time and passed; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. ? Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, moves that By-Law No. 2009 to prohibit the running at large of dogs within the Township of Pickering and to appoint a Dog-Catcher, be now read a second time, and that the Council go ~nto Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole then arose and reported. Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves that the Report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2009 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and Passed; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2010 Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Michell, moves for leave to introduce a By~Law to amend By-Law Number 197$, as amended by By-Law Number 1984 (School Section 1$, Zoning), and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, moves that By-Law No. 2010 to amend By-Law Number 197$, as amended by By-Law Number 1984, be now read a second time, and the Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole then arose and reported. Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves that the Report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law Number 2010 be now read a Third time and passed; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. Newman, moves that By-Law No. 2011 to appoint a Fire Area Committee for Fire Area No.1, be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole then arose and reported. Mr. Michell, seconded by ~œ. Lawson, moves that the Report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2006 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and passed; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED SCHOOL AREA BY-LAW (2 Readings) Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering to set apart a Township School Area of the Township of Pickering School Area Number 2, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Newman, seconded by I~.
